Question about Maytag MER5775Q Electric Kitchen Range
Hello, The bake setting stopped working the other day. I opened oven to see that bake element was melted mostly on right (if looking into oven) 2/3 of unit. I replaced with new element. It still is not working. I measured resistance of new element; it is 16.8 ohms. I opened up the back of oven to expose wiring, everything looks good; no burned wires, no wires appear disconnected. We are having relatives over this weekend so I am in big trouble with the wife if I dont get it fixed. Any help is super appreciated.
Help! I can't find the bake element for an Avanti ER20 the terminals are four inches apart, it's sixteen inches long and eleven inches wide.

Control unit is probably the problem, You should check your Breaker to make sure it didnt trip outside of that you can check voltage to the element with the oven set to bake, if you dont have votage to element then it would most likely be the board. I just checked the wiring diagram for this unit and there is an over limit switch which is a long shot but worth checking. My bet is on the board. There are 2 listings for the part number so if you check on parts make sure you have full model # serial # AND series #(should be a 2 digit number like 10 or something)

Hello kimberlymaso - If you are referring to the bake element, but the broil element works then you would need to just replace the bake element. If both your bake and broil element does not work, then there might be a problem with the wiring communication. However, if the oven does not bake and/or broil but the cook top works; contact a professional to diagnose the EOC (electronic oven control).
