Question about Dell DJ Ditty MP3 Player

1 Answer

Can not delete files...

Everytime I try to delete some files it says:

Cannot delete file: Windows is unable to find the file. This item might have already been deleted or moved.

I know they are mp3 files but will not play on the computer, but do on the player. I really wish I could get them off though. Thanks.

I have MP3 files on my COMPUTER that will not delete. I ge the same message as J.Jones. Any suggested solutions? By the way, I have tried 4 of the "delete everything" free software and it does not help, I searched the registry for all "limewire" or "MP3" files and deleted all of them, however, the MP3 files will still not delete. I'm not sure they are hurting anything but I'm not sure.

    Any help appreciated.

Reformat the player.
Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.

How do I remove a song or songs from my Sansa SanDisk mp3 player model m240?

There are 2 ways to delete music files. You can delete them from the player directly or
using the computer.
To delete music files directly from the Sansa player, follow these steps:
1. In playback mode, press Submenu button.
2. Select the Delete Song item.

To delete music files using the computer, follow these steps:
1. Connect your Sansa to the computer.
2. Select Open device to view files using Windows Explorer on initial connection.
3. Locate the folder where your music files are stored.
4. Highlight and delete the music files or folder.

I hope this helps.
Thanks.

Try this method
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal
Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on
"Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you
do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release,
right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player.
Good Luck,
I hope this helps

Sync

make a folder on your desktop, copy the files that you want from your 'music' folder, and paste them into this folder. Then copy all of the files in the folder you just created and paste them into your mp3 player. Open the mp3 player in 'my computer' and just right click and paste. Your music files should go over. Once you are happy delete the folder from the desktop or keep it for further use.

Can't copy files to and from Windows Media Player

If the music service subscription that you originally used to transfer these files has expired, then you will get this error message.

Also, you have to fully resynchronize to the original computer yo connected the player to every 30 days.

Can't seem to delete the songs

try connecting in MSC mode of the USB settings - then using windows or mac or linux to delete files. In MSC mode the player should be recognised as a bog standard usb storage device. The files are have the hidden attribute set, so you must enable show all files in Windows or you won't see the Music directory they are in.
