The scanner, which used to be fast, now runs extremely slow. It takes about a minute and a half for the Dell AIO Center software to load, nearly 3 minutes to preview, and 2 minutes to scan. So just to scan...

Scanners speed is influenced by the quality chosen in document productions. Selecting impressionful color saturation requires time to produce results. Use the menu buttons on the scanner to select least saturated color pixels.

My Dell 948 printer produces a thick black line on documents

Leave the cover up and run a 'copy.' Look closely at the fluorescent scanner light and note if it seems equally bright from end to end.
If it does, the photo-assembly that acts as an image receiver is probably sick.
If it is, with the labor cost and potential non-availability of parts, you might be better off replacing it unless still under warranty.

I WANT TO USE THE SCANNER BUT, I DON'T NOW HOW, It go to the printer all the time, could you please help me ? I have the EPSOM STYLUS BX300F PROFESSIONAL, PRINTER,SCANNER,FAX,PHOTOCOPIER.

Basically, you can use the scanner in two ways. Please open the scanner cover and place the document or image you want to scan face down.

1. Press the SCAN button (color button = color scanning, black button = monochrome scanning). then your scanner will scan the document or image in the scanner tray.

2. Go to the scanner program installed in your computer when you installed the printer. Open it and then click the command button SCAN.

Note: Make sure that you installed the Scanner software when you installed the printer. Without the software, your scanner will not work. Please reinstall the printer including the scanner software.

I just need to scan in some paperwork to email to family i don't know how to do it?

Scanning
You can use your printer to scan using the operator panel or the printer software.

Using the Operator Panel
1 Turn on your computer and printer, and make sure they are connected.
2 Load your original document. For help, see "Load an Original Document Into the ADF" on
page 36 or "Placing Your Original Document on the Scanner Glass" on page 38.
3 Press the Mode Selector on the operator panel repeatedly until Scan is selected.
4 Press > to scroll through the list of possible programs to which you can scan.
5 Press Select when the program to which you want to scan appears.
6 From the Start area on the operator panel, press Black to begin a black and white scan or
Color to being a color scan.

Blurry Scanning/Copying

Are you scanning both black and white and color the same way? The ADF (automatic document feeder) uses a different scanning area than when you place the document on the scanning glass. If you open the scanner cover, look to the left of the main scanner glass to the narrow strip used for the ADF. Make sure this narrow strip is clean -- no ink or white-out or scratches. This can make your copies look dirty or smudged.
