Question about ViewSonic VX715 17" LCD Monitor
The last button to the right on the bottom panel - that allows you to turn the monitor off or on when not using it - stuck, for lack of a better word when it was "off." I can press it/fool with it and the image comes on a few seconds so I know it is there, but can't make it do more than that. My perception is something happened to that switch that allows you to go back and forth - can I fix this?
See image for few seconds? Check capacitors on board and check for "dry/cold" solder joints. If u can see image if only for 2 secs then it is not your backlights.

I used to repair LCD monitor from
Dell. It works for me. You might be using these following steps to examine what
is the problem of your LCD monitor. After you turned PC on and monitor stopped
working or went black, you have to check that if you can see the image on the screen
or not by shining a flashlight into the screen, not directly but find the best
angle to the screen and take a look very closely. If you can see the icons or
any image (Start menu), there will be a minor problem. This is because of CCFL
lamps inside screen. Some of them were broken and it is very easy to replace.
You don't need to do anything with the inverter board in this case. If you
cannot see anything on the screen, there'll be some problems with inverter
board. Hope this help!! If anything I can help you with, feel free to let me
