Hi, if you had a certified company tech, or contractor come out and check this unit with his gauges, he would know if it has lost its charge. Most window units have no service valves on them to check the freon gas. He may have installed a bullet piercing valve to check the freon. I would have to agree with him. To be sure, I would have to make the checks myself. This says you have a leak in the system somewhere. That would need to be checked and found also. If it was a service tech you called and want to get it fixed, I would use the same guy.
Sincerely,

Hi, why didnt he charge the unit when he was there? Most window units they want to remove and take back to the shop. Please let me know where you stand.
    Sincerely,

Why is there no cooling from the air conditioner?

With my Fujitsu installation the engineer turned a valve on the outside unit to release the gas. But don't forget you have to pressurize the system with Nitrogen first and test for leaks, then use a vacuum pump to get all the Nitrogen and air out of the system before letting the gas in. It is a job for Pros, not the home handyman.

The unit is not cooling, is there a service centre on Central Coast NSW Please

go yellow pages for your area and check for air conditioners service and repairs
read all the adds and there will be one that lists as authorized service agent for your make of air conditioner
go to a retailer and asks who is the service agent for your make of air conditioner
you didn't list what make it was so try this
go google and type in --authorized service agent for ( make of air conditioner) in NSW---and pick a agent that is closest to your address

Our ac inner fan is moving but it isn't cooling

If AC is correctly set to Coll mode, then cooling gas is missing, call some AC service in near and fill the gas. Ask for price first. Do not switch on AC until this is done, to prevent higher damage.

My air conditioner cooling coils get frozen approx\.after 2 hrs of running i have showed it to the service boy they first serviced filled gas and even changed the fan motor. but still the problem...

Hello, the evap coil will freeze from either low airflow or low charge. I would clean the coils, check air filter and replace or clean if dirty. If you have a thermometer measure the air entering the ac and the air leaving the ac, the differance should be 15-20 degrees, measure this after cleaning the coils. If it still is below 15 degrees the unit is underchraged.

How do you replace the cooling agent? Is it Freon based?

Must be done by licensed technician. Gas must be reclaimed and requires special equipment to recharge. But it is a normal procedure, however, it should be checked for leaks if it is losing its charge.

My air conditioner will kick on but will stay on and not

The thermostat is not functional, therefore its not cutting off the compressor once the room air gets cooled to the temp setting of the thermostat, also the refrigerant gas may have leaked out some but not the entire refrigerant gas(freon, CF4, etc.), keeping the compressor running contentiously to come down to the set temp..............sodeep
