Nc6000 comp. will only run fan when turned on for

1,check power supply.
2,check battery.
3,check the fan is trying to run.if its not it may need cleaning.
4,over heating can stop it from starting.

when you say it doesnt want to shut off i'm guessing you mean the fan. the fans run on a timer when the thermostat calls for heat it will come on 90-120 sec.later. turn your t stat down below room temp and it will shut off in 30-60 sec.your ignitor is most likly bad. turn your t stat back up and look at it. it should glow. furnace will try to light 3 times,you may hear the gas flow for 3 sec.during this cycle. if no glow good chance that is your problem and you will need to replace it.be carefull it is very brittle and breaks easy if tapped. be sure to turn the t stat down again or the fan will start running again.

Power drain would be a better solution in this case.
1.first shut down the comp
2.unplug the charger
3. remove the battery
and after press and hold the power button for 60 seconds without any charger and the battery.After the 60 seconds replug the battery and the charger and turn the computer .

there's 3 fans. 1 by the video board. 1 in the middle of the set infront of the heatsink and 1 behind the lamp. make sure all 3 fans are running and put your ears by them to check. if all of them are running the sound might be coming from your colorwheel. If it sounds like a loud whinning/humming or buzzing noise then more then likely its your colorwheel. Let me know what you find and please rate me. Thanks

Pleease remove all connections (including Front Panel pin assignments) from Mother Board except Power Supply.
Now find out reset pin assignment on mother board and shot that pin if its woking then again do all connection and try.

other wise dismental complete system and re-assemble sytem. your problem will be solved

The fan turning off will be the cause of the PC shutting down.
This could be caused by a faulty fan or bad connection to motherboard.
1. try reseating the fans power plug on the motherboard
2. if that doesn't help, try replacing with new fan.
3. if that doesn't work then most likely motherboard problem

IWhen I turn ON my laptop first time HP Compaq nc6000, sometimes the orange LED will just light up and nothing happens, sometimes when I get lucky I will be able to goto Windows. when start work properly.

On ac adapter and battery power,could be several things sounds like bad caps on the main board. Less expensive to replace the motherboard.

You may need a new power supply, It may be putting a bit of power out but not enough to run thr comp
