Question about the integrated audio on an Acer desktop...

Actually, it's more the speakers, you can have the greatest sound card in the world, but plugging in a 10 dollar set of pc speakers is not going to sound good. That's why a good motherboard has Optical SPDIF Out Port, so you can put the sound to a receiver.

It's HD 5 channel, but likely your sound blaster is better.

Crackling Sound With Soundblaster Cards

This seems like a strange problem with Windows XP. Some users are noticing scratchy, popping sound with their SoundBlaster cards and Windows XP..I have come to the conclusion that this is happening the most often on PC's that contain RAID setups such as a Highpoint controller.

The main fix I have come across is to install Raid drivers OTHER than those that shipped with Windows XP. For instance on my Raid setup, I went back to a older Windows 2000 driver and this has almost completely stopped my sound problems.

Sure, you can find drivers for all the Creative Labs sound cards at this website: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/

All you have to do is Select "Sound Blaster" in the first column, "Audigy" in the second, and whatever version of card your's happens to be in the last column. Good Luck!

Computer Crashing-seems to be drivers or RAM

it sounds like you have one of three problems that it could be, first you may not have the proper drivers for the chip set. second you could have a bad CPU, or a bad or cracked mother board. i have gotten mother boards that were cracked in shipping and caused the same problems. if you have checked these let me know it will give me further info to work with. also I have found that cdertain sound blaster programs are not compatible with XP.
