Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

Mitsubishi VS-60805 We have a Mitsubishi VS-60805, the picture went balce, with sound about a month ago. We took it for repair and was told that both transformers were out. Only one of the transformers is available from Mitsubishi; the other is no longer in production. It is 6 years old. Any suggestions on how I can salvage this TV? I really can't afford a new one at this point. Any help would be appreciated. H Brooks

What you probably see is a burning area due to Cooling Fluid leaking from one of the CRTs. If this is the case, It is not worth fixing in my opinion because the Board would have to be replaced and the leaking CRT would also have to be replaced. The availability of the Board is doubtful Due to it's age. You can check at 1800-553-7278. This is Mitsubishi's parts department #.
Hope this helps,

Scrambled picture mitsubishi VS-60805

Hello deltamech,

Are you using your component video cables? if you are check to see if you are using the correct inputs. Look at the babck of your TV and see if the RGB (Lettering) matches with the box you are connecting to. What I am talking about is the YP(b)P(r) vs the YC(b)C(r) they are incompatable with each other.

Check that and if that is the case either match the two proper RGBs up or use another interface.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

No picture but sound

I had the same problem with the same model. If you pull the cover off the speakers in the front , then the small black panel. looking from the front past your lamps are the 3 main boards, the r/h board has wire jumpers connecting to the center board. The set that is closest to you had a bad/loose/corroded connection on mine. All I did was resecure connection(try moving them with your fingertip) and turn TV on and check.

The Picture on my Mitsubishi vs-60805 "shrank" then disappeared

it isnt worth it, your verticle diflection is out, that board is about 3-4 hundred, and you would probabily need a service center do it(messing with like 30000 volts)and they will probabily charge around 200

Cleaning lenses/lamps on mitsubishi VS-60805

A can of compressed air might do the trick. If dirt is stuch, I'd suggest useing the same chemicals/cloths/etc you would use for cleaning camera lenses. Check at your local photo store.

Just make sure the lenses aren't hot when you apply cold and/or flamable chemicals.
