I have got a bluetooth adaptor an it wont work on my computer i dont know if i have the right adaptor, its a Bluetooth 10m v1.2 Adaptor, modle make= MIKOMI

Hi Shellybob2,

It shouldn't matter too much as long as you have the driver(s) that came with it... Usually in the form of a CD or Mini CD.

This will have the drivers to make it work, as long as it can be used by your OS. This is usually founds on the cover of the box it came in.

It is unusual taht it won't work, given the calibre of current OS's available and the driver support for them.

Installing a bluetooth dongle

Hi there,

Could not find your dongle drivers anywhere but try the Blue Soleil software. The free version is a bit limited, when unlicenced, but unless you are transferring large amounts of data it should suffice. This software should work with any make of dongle.

Mikomi

heyo.....Vista should find it right away. I have a bluetooth usb adaptor and had the same problem.... I found a site that helped me download a driver made for vista. http://www.jonsguides.com/Bluetooth®/tested.html

However that was last year...be sure to do a google search for the Manufacturer of you adaptor (dongle) first along with the words "bluetooth usb dongle vista driver" in the search bar.

Good Luck.

Don't run the setup program. Instead reboot your computer and use the windows add hardware wizard to install the drivers from the CD. The windows hardware wizard will detect several different devices, allow it to install them all from the CD.

I believe that this uses a Broadcom chipset, and if so, this driver may work out for you:

3com usb bluetooth adaptor wont work at all

The Bluetooth adapter should be able to be used with Win XP's own drivers, try uninstalling the drivers that you got with the adapter and dis connect it. Re-connect your adapter back in and right click on an item you want to send via bluetooth and it will say 'send to bluetooth device'. Please note this will only work with Win XP SP2 not SP1
