I am experiencing the very same problem. We have had the table top unit for over a year now, and one after cleaning the unit, I turned it on only to have the blue lights blinking continously. Pleas help.

    Thank you!

Clean my filter, put it back in the unit and blue light keeps on blinking and no air. Seems like it is not running.

Purchased same unit from Sharper Image this March have the same problem. No trouble shooting for this in the manual. Contacted manufacturer and was told to clean it... Cleaned it again repeatedly. Took it back to retailer and had it replaced. A month later the same problem. No air and a flashing blue light.

Older units have no problem. No support from manufacturer or dealer. Little more than an expensive lesson.

Well, it seems like a common problem. I see why Sharper Image is filing for bankruptcy. Two days after I bought it. Mine started to blink. I cleaned it and it still blinks. Bad investment, (Consumer Reports) says it a great air purifier, well they need to work on there reports. This thing sucks!

I cleaned my unit and the blue light just blinks. No air movement. It seems to crackle just a bit before the light starts to blink.

Cleaning didn't help. Will just waiting help?

I loved this thing when it was working! I want it back!

My ionic tabletop air purifier is doing the same thing with the blue blinking light. I feel like a ******. This was an expensive purchase for me and now I've wasted money on a product that does not work. Please help. I've cleaned it just like instructions said.

The blue light blinks

I believe that a blue blinking light indicates that the stainless steel collection blades need to be wiped clean. The unit uses these blades instead of a replaceable filter. Simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth and you should be ready to go!

There is a red blinking light and it is not cleaning.

My Ionic Breeze would work for a short time after cleaning and the blue light would start flashing and the unit would stop working. I checked the wall cube power adapter with a volt meter. It was putting out only 10 volts instead of the needed 12 volts. It seems The Ionic Breeze needs a full 12-13 volts to work. So I went to Radio Shack and bought a universal 12 volt 800ma power adapter. I checked the voltage in the new adapter, it was 13 volts. This fixed the flashing blue light problem. However the Ionic Breeze produces harmful Ozone gas, so I don't use it anymore.

The blue light on my ionic breeze is blinking.

The ionizers were recalled by Sharper Image due to a lawsuit that they lost forcing the company into chapter 11.

There is a thread on this website with further details.

What does a blinking blue light indicate?

"A blinking light indicates when the blades should be wiped clean with a damp cloth." I actually had a "handyman" contract last year to visit an elderly gentleman once a month and clean all 9 of his Ionic Breeze GP air purifiers. Before I did that for him, they would make hissing noises and he really didn't like that. Here's how to clean the operative compnents of these machines: First, unplug the machine and place on a work surface, such as a table or kitchen counter. Second, remove the metal blade insert from the top by gripping the release tab and lifting it up and out. Also remove the front and back grilles by pressing on the plastic tab at the bottom and lifting up on them. Third, use a damp rag or paper towel to wipe the three metal blades clean. Do not immerse this assembly in water, because it has to be completely dry when re-installing it in the machine. Fourth, use a small piece of damp paper towel to VERY GENTLY wipe clean the two thin wires inside the unit. These are located behind the two rubbery flat blades just inside the unit and can be accessed from the front side. You won't damage these rubbery flat blades by pushing your hand gently between them, but be VERY CAREFUL when wiping the wires clean. (This step is important, as the wires must be clean.) Fifth, using another bit of damp paper towel, carefully clean the wire attached to the inside of the front grille. Dry this off with a dry bit of paper towel, then clean any accumulated dirt off the front & back grilles. Check the metal contact near the bottom of the front grille (attached to the wire) to verify that it's clean and will make good electrical contact. Sixth, pick the unit up and turn it upside-down & right-side up about 6 to 8 times. The two wires inside have plastic beads on them that slide up and down the wires. This brushes any bits of leftover dust or lint off of the wires. (Again, these wires must be VERY clean.) Seventh, replace the front and back plastic grilles by placing them in their slots and sliding them down to snap into place. Verify that the assembly with the three metal blades is COMPLETELY dry, using a hair dryer if necessary to dry off damp areas, then slide it back into place from the top of the machine. Now the cleaning process is done, so plug the unit in and turn it on to test operation. If it makes ANY noise, then some component is not completely cleaned off, or still has a presence of moisture, which must be completely dried off before the machine is ready for operation. Hope this helps! ;)
