Why did you replace the battery ?. You may need to do a CMOS reset/clear and there maybe a jumper on the board. If not turn the power off at the mains and remove the battery for 5 mins then refit and power up with keyboard and monitor connected enter the BIOS and set date and time save and reboot.

300c battery

There has to be a battery. Look behind the keyboard (back). But before you do that charge is for 7-8 hours. Then try again.

No matter how careful you may be, knocking a cup of coffee or spilling a glass of soda over your keyboard may happen. This does not, however, mean the end of your keyboard. If you act quickly, you may be able to fix your wet keyboard to avoid any corrosion of its electronic components or any short circuit which might render it unusable. By following a few recommendations, you should be able to fix your wet computer keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any corrosion or short circuit. If you spilled water over your laptop's keyboard, turn your computer off by clicking on "Shut Down" on "Turn Off" in the start menu, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to remove most of the water from it. Take a hair dryer and set it to its lowest temperature setting. Use it to dry any water which might remain under your keyboard's keys. Wait at least 12 hours before plugging your keyboard into your computer again. If your computer is a laptop, wait 12 hours before turning it on again. For Other Liquids Disconnect the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any short circuit or corrosion. Turn your computer off by selecting "Shut Down" or "Turn Off" in the start menu, remove the battery and disconnect the power supply. Place paper towels on a table, turn the keyboard upside down and shake it over them to allow most of the liquid to fall down. Take a few clean paper towels and wipe the liquid off your keyboard's keys. To clean between the keys, you can also use cotton swabs with just a little bit of water. If the liquid which you spilled over your keyboard contained a high amount of sugar, such as soda or sugared coffee, you might have to remove some of your keyboard's keys to clean the surface under the keys with paper towels or swabs. You can do so by lifting them gently with a screwdriver or by using a key remover, which you can find in some IT stores. Wait at least 12 hours before using your keyboard again. If your computer is a laptop, wait the same length of time before turning it on again. My battery died on the Nokia 6790 Ive been charging the phone for over 3 hours and only the keyboard lights up when i hold the "on" button but the screen doesnt turn on

Ifthe cell phone battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

Blank screen, but power light is on

It sounds as if the display cable was jarred loose. This is located below the keyboard.

Do the following or if you live in the Denver, CO area, I can do this for you.

1. Shut down the notebook. If you are unsure whether the
notebook is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on a
then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect all external devices connected to the notebook.
3. Disconnect the power cord.
4. Turn the notebook upside down with the rear panel
toward you.
5. Remove the 3 PM2.5×13.0 screws that secure the strip cover
to the notebook.
Note: 2 of the screws that secure the strip cover to the notebook
also secure the thermal cover. It is not necessary to remove
the thermal cover to remove the strip cover.
6. Remove the 4 PM2.5×3.0 screws that secure the keyboard
to the notebook.
7. Lift the rear edge of the keyboard up and swing it toward
you until it rests on the palm rest.
8. Disconnect the ZIF connector to which the keyboard cable
is attached and disconnect the keyboard cable.
9. Re-connect the display cable to the system board.
10. Reverse steps 1 through 8 for re-assembly.

If you feel that this is too much info, then contact a reputable pc company in your area and have them follow the above steps. Please let me know what happens and thank you. Binary Bob

Keyboard not work

Hello ,

As per what i understand from the issue you stated it has the possible solutions :
1. perform a Power Drain Test to drain out the accumulated static charge from within the notebook (happens with every laptop) - let the laptop be on , remove the power cord , remove the battery directly without directly shutting the laptop. The laptop will shut down once you remove the battery. Then press and hold the power button for the next 50 seconds continuously. Then attach the battery , then the power cord and power on the notebook. Check the keyboard . If no go , then

2. use an external keyboard . Attach the external keyboard to the laptop and boot into the normal OS desktop. Open Device Manager and check if there are any conflicts. Or else directly update/flash the BIOS by clicking on the link below :
www.hp.com

If unable to do so , please mail back giving the Serial Number of the laptop and the Product Number (loacted underneath the laptop on a white label beginning with s/n and p/n respectively ) and i shall send you the exact BIOS update/flash link .

Regards ,
Puloma
