What drive is the dvd rom inserted. i'm trying to download turbo tax

    According to the User Manual, I just looked at on HP Support, the DVD-ROM drive, or DVD burner drive, is the bottom optical drive. The DVD-ROM drive is the same thing as the CD drive or optical drive, generally. It is near the top of the tower.

Download refers to getting something off the internet - if you have a DVD, you are trying to install it.

For that problem, Try first replace that internal DVD-rom drive other good internal DVD-rom drive. if not Also Detected or recognize.
Try this second solution. insert external USB type DVD-ROM. if not recognize also, Your operating system Have internal software device data corrupted. You need to reinstall operating System like windows xp, windows 7 (OS) etc.. to fix data Corrupted of operating system device for hardware software.
Please see sample external DVD-rom USB type.

Need insructions for inserting a Turbo Tax disc. How is it done?
Insert the CD into your cd/dvd drive on your computer (print side up/shiny side down).
Close drive.
select Run from the autoplay menu that pops up, this will install Turbo Tax on your PC.
If autoplay does not start, open my computer and right click the drive with the disc in it, select auto play, then run or install.
after insallation you should have a icon on your desktop for Turbo Tax.

Dvd drive won't open
you can try opening it with paperclip if it's stuck. Straighten the clip and locate a small pinhole on the drive it and insert the clip in. You might need to push the paperclip in an out a few times to eject the drawer.

My asus dvd rom ejects when inserting a disc. I have to insert a disc atleast 20 times to play it.
It's probably just dirty opticals. Try running a CD cleaning kit a couple of times.

first of all, is this game running from your harddrive or the dvd rom??? if u are running from the harddrive, then you will need a application to make the os think is running from a dvd rom drive, this is typical when the game is downloaded. if u have the original dvd disk, then your firmware of the dvd rom may need to be updated, or most likely theres an issue with the firmware, and you might need to purchase and up to date dvd rom.
