Is the remote fully charged? Can you try the same ninchuck with a different wii remote. It could be the port on the remote damaged. If it doesnt work with another remote it needs replacing.

Make sure there are batteries in the remote. Select the proper input on your tv. You should see a roku logo on the screen. Use the remote to power on the Roku box.
look on cover or inside cover of unit for id tag or a control panel then use that information to look up on line for a user manual or order one ---when ordering remote what information was used to get a correct on --should be able to find unit information from remote like as to what unit it goes to

please cheek the following to find ouy if your remote is working
1 remove batties hold down one button on remote control for 30 sec fit new battiers and test
2 if you have a mw radio turn this to about 1,3Mhz hold remote control near radio ,pressing any button on the remote will be heard from the radio in the form of poping / ticking noise ,
3 another test would be to point the remote contrul towards a digital camer pressing a button will show a dot flash on ldc display
