Question about Lucent Merlin Legend MLX-20L Phone

CALLER ID HOW DO YOU MAKE CALLER ID WORK? WE JUST ADDED THE FEATURE THROUGH OUR TELEPHONE SERVICE PROVIDER BUT CAN'T MAKE IT WORK ON OUR AT & T MLX-20L SYSTEM. HELP!!!

    Our caller ID only works for telephone #ID but won't give cell phone # on the display. And if its a cell phone, when I pick up the phone to answer the phone makes a staticy noise as soon as I pick up the phone. Other phone calls, no problem.

    We also can not make the caller id work. We checked and it works coming into the building but Legend does not display it.

How do i forward console calls on avaya MLX-20L to cell phone


Call forwarding is a service provided by your telephone company, and the procedure varies from company to company.

With most companies you dial *72 then at the second dial tone dial the number to forward to. That other phone must answer to confirm the forwarding. Dial *73 on the landline to cancel call forwarding.

If this doesn't work, contact your telephone company for their instructions.

I am unable to dial outside line from MLX-20L console


test the jack box with another phone, if the problem persist the problem will be the outside line. You must call to the company service. +48Vdc will be presente in the jack box.

How do you turn off talking caller ID on panasonic kx-tg4032?


This feature lets you know who is calling

without looking at the display.

To use this feature, you must:

- subscribe to a Caller ID service of

your service provider/telephone

company.

- turn this feature on (page 24).

When caller information is received, the

handsets and base unit announce the

caller's name or phone number received

from your service provider/telephone

company following every ring.

The unit announces in English only.

L Name pronunciation may vary. This

feature may not pronounce all names

correctly.

L Caller ID service has a limit of how

many characters can be displayed. If

the caller's name is too long, the

handset may not be able to display or

announce the entire name.

L The announcement is heard at the

same level as the ringer volume (page

16, 23).

L If you turn on the answering system

and set the number of rings "2

rings" (page 36), the unit does not

announce the caller information. If

"Toll saver" is selected and there

is a new message, the unit does not
announce the caller information.

Caller i.d. doesn't work piece of junk


Please download this manual, and study e.g on page 21 About caller ID If you subscribe to caller ID service from your local telephone company, this feature displays the name and telephone number of the caller before answering a call (even when you are on another call). The caller ID features of this product will work only if you subscribe to caller ID service and both you and the caller are in areas offering caller ID service, and if both telephone companies use compatible equipment. Contact your local telephone company if: • you have both caller ID and call waiting, but as separate services (you may need combined service), • you have only caller ID service, or only call waiting service, • you do not subscribe to caller ID or call waiting services but wish to try them. There may be fees for these services, and they may not be available in all areas. This product can be used without subscribing to either caller ID or combined caller ID with call waiting service, although the caller ID features of this product will not function.

Caller ID and Call Waiting ID are subscription services, available from most local telephone service providers. You must subscribe to these services in order for the features to work on your phone. Contact your local telephone service provider for more information.

In addition, your caller must be calling from an area that supports caller ID.

Both you and your caller’s telephone service provider must use compatible caller ID systems.

If you subscribe to DSL service for this telephone line, DSL filters must be plugged into EVERY phone jack that has a phone. The DSL signal can cause caller ID disruption, static, noise and other issues on your line. DSL filters block the high frequency DSL signals from being transmitted to the telephone. If you are not using the DSL filters provided by the telephone company, this will cause static/noise and possibly caller id issues on your phones.

In most cases, we recommend you connect the plug end of the DSL filter into the telephone jack, then connect a telephone cord between the filter and your phone.

Please contact your service provider to obtain DSL filters and installation information.

Caller ID and Call Waiting ID may not be available for every call. Common reasons are incompatibilities between your and your caller’s service, transmission errors and answering calls before the ID data is received.

No caller ID displayed


If you have digital telephone with cable. First thing you should do is contact the billing department of your service provider. Make sure you are in billing for caller id. If you are let them know you are not receiving service you are paying for. Have them check your number in the switch. Which is the system that allocates each call that is made to and from your number. If this feature is not activated properly in the switch you might be paying for a service that is not properly activated. If all is correct with service provider. Try using another phone that has the caller id feature just to make sure it's not the actual phone. If both phones still doesn't display caller id. You should have your service provider send out a technician to troubleshoot your home telephone lines to make sure all phone jacks and telephone lines are secure and corrosion free, and have them verify service while there. You should also ask about a credit for the time the service was activated until the time the service actually worked.

Caller id


If you are using standard telephone lines, the LCOT cards have to be fitted with Caller ID boards to be able to retrieve the data. If you have the boards, and you have turned on the Caller ID feature on each telephone line, your phone company is not providing the service.

Common reasons are incompatibilities between your and your caller?s service, transmission errors and answering calls before the ID data is received. They state that if you have further problems, to contact customer support at 1-800-595-9511. Also, who is your phone service provider? And who is the manufacture of the old phone? If this does not help, please post further. Also, please rate this solution through fix-it. Thank you.
