Mixer won't turn on after adjusting beater height

The kitchenaid warranty is exactly 365 days from date of registration "No Questions Asked" on day 366 you have no warranty and you gotta pay.
Now the good news; first check the wall socket, I know it works but check it anyway. then check your plug, did you step on it while you were working on the machine? The plug often falls to the floor during work and can get underfoot, you may have broken the plug it'self. next you will need a parts list for your model from Kitchenaid's website.
http://www.kitchenaid.com/customer-service/manuals/
My first suggestion is to try a minor adjustment of the speed control switch, they often get out of sync when you do something to the machine. You can find several videos of this on the youtube site. "Adjusting the speed control switch on kitchenaid mixer"
If the two or one of the top 2 screws on the speed control switch move it can shut the machine down just like an on/off switch. Did you remove the back cover during your adjustments? Did you remove and replace the carbon brushes on the side of the machine while working on the machine? If you did you might have put them back in incorrectly, if you did they will also act a a shutoff switch. If you did not take them out then DON"T as there are four ways to put the brushes back in and only one way is correct and there are two brushes to deal with. Has work ever been performed on the mixer before? Because if all you did was to adjjust the beater height screw then nothing should have effected the normal operation of the mixer. So if there is anything that you did but did not include in your description of work you performed then please let us know. We strive to give accurate solutions but... as I am a KA tech I do not have any other solutions with out the machine in front of me. Just so you know you can fix this yourself.

I just bought the ice cream maker attachment and the metal collar on the beater shaft is stopping me from attaching the ice cream maker driver. How do I remove the metal collar from the beater shaft?

You need a small steel hammer and a pin punch. Do not try to drive
out the Groove Pin any other way (i.e. don't force it out with a regular
size hammer and a screwdriver), you will only damage the Planetary plate
and/or the Agitator shaft. Lay your mixer down on the floor and support
the Beater shaft with a wooden block before driving the Groove Pin out.

I have a very old kitchenaid that stopped working. It's at least 30 years old, still have the "Hobart" name on it. Any ideas where I can bring it to get fixed?

Hi, FIGSONWHEELS, Sorry, but you don’t have a KitchenAid mixer. You have a Hobart mixer, which is another brand altogether.
You might try the Hobart website and seek assistance directly through them. They tend to be very close lipped about releasing information on how to fix their mixers by yourself, as they have a whole business unit that services their industrial/commercial floor mixers. You can click on this link for the Hobart Service website: http://www.hobartservice.com/Locations/
I hope this will at least get you pointed in the right direction. Good luck, Howard – Burke, VA

Mixer quit working

Quite likely you overloaded the capacity of the motor and it simply overheated. The brushes inside the motor may be burned out/corroded. I suggest putting a light load on it and seeing how it performs. Often, when this kind of thing occurs, a bit of light duty use will get the motor back into good working order. But be careful to not over-tax the unit again. There are several different KitchenAid mixers on the market, some nothing more than ornamental, all the way up to commercial-grade.

? Hobart A200 Mincer/Mixer wont work

What kind of bang was it ? an electrical or mechanical. The A-200 has a stator and rotor assy with a start capacitor and relay behind the back cover at the head of the unit. You can access the retaining nut for the rotor (motor) shaft by removing the small 2 inch cover and getting a wrench on the nut and spinning it by hand. The handle you mentioned with the three numbered selections are your speed settings and everything is driven through a planetary drive. Hobart A-200 have been around longer than I have (im 48) and are work horses and in my opinion, are the top of the line for mixers. Put it this way, I would take a 25 year old A-200 over a brand new Varimixer or other brand name. You can access parts manuals and break downs on Hobarts web site with model # and M/L # any other question e-mail me capt_rick1912@yahoo.com if you cant find what you are looking for I will e-mail you a wiring diagram (found behind the small gear selection cover on side) Good Luck......Rick
