First my washer stopped working during the spin cycle, and some of the water still in the tub,i have to wait for about half an hour to have the whole process done after continuing the washing process, then after 2 weeks not doing any laundry, when i tried to switch on the on/off button,it doesn't do anything at all!I tried changing the plug fuse(thinking maybe it needed to be changed after 4 years using it) but nothing happened.please help me . The error code U12 shows in my washing machine ( Panasonic NA-F70GS) because the lid is broken (the part no of lid unit is AXW001G6TP5J and cost around RM 64.00 in Panasonic Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Tel: 03-55437600) or you can also get it in Tong Kong (SS3 or SS2 - Tel: 03-78755946).

Its switch is giving wrong signal if it is electronic switch or if it is mechanical, switch is getting stuck before spin cycle.

Also there is a chance that the spin cycle winding in your motor isnot working if the switch is shifting automatically to the spin cycle position. or the cabling may have been damaged by rat cutting or any reason. these are a few possibilities i suggest to check.

Check your exit hose spigot, it may be clogged. This is if your filter is all clean.(Refer manual) There should be air for passage in the standpipe behind. Your hose should not fit airtight into the standpipe and neither too deep into it. Snaking out your standpipe would be good too.

The cycle doesn't advanceWhen the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

  • It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

  • It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

you both seem to have bad lid switches. A bad lid switch will prevent draining and spinning.

SOURCE: LG Washing Machine stops spinning in mid cycle

    IE:

    • Water supply is not adequate in
    area.
    • Water supply taps are not
    completely open.
    • Water inlet hose is bent.
    • The filter of the inlet hose clogged.

    Solution:
Check another tap in the house.
    Fully open tap.
    Straighten hose.
Check the filter of the inlet hose.

    UE:
    • Load is too small.
    • Load is out of balance.
    • The appliance has an imbalance
    detection and correction system. If
    individual heavy articles are loaded
(bath mat, bath robe, etc.) and the
imbalance is too great, after several
attempts to restart the spin cycle the
machine will stop and the error code
    will be displayed.

    Solution:
Add 1 or 2 similar items to help
    balance the load.
    Rearrange load to allow proper
    spinning.

Washing machine sticking in middle of rinse and spin part of cycle

If your machine is stopping at the rise cycle, then you have a faulty cold water inlet valve/solenoid.

To verify this, turn off your hot water tap and only leave the cold water on. Put your machine on a cold water cycle. If the machine does not fill up, it means the valve/solenoide needs to be replaced.

Also note if you had water left in the tank prior to rise cycle commencing, then the drain pump is blocked.

Washer is acting erratic. spin cycle works sometimes. stops half way through cycle sometimes. got a new belt. what's next? pump or timer. both are spendy $ thanks. frigidaire FTR630ASO

The control monitors the door lock prior to and during the spin cycle as a safety feature. The washer will not advance to the spin cycle when the door lock is not activated and stops when the lock is deactivated during the spin cycle.

In your case, the door lock is working intermittently causing the washer to spin intermittently. This is probably due to a faulty door lock and switch assembly or poor connection at the control board or at the assembly itself. Replace the door lock and switch assembly if necessary.

Washer fills/agitates and stops prior to draining

If pump works fine or still pumps out water, then it is a timer malfunction. Replace the timer and you should be fine. To locate a part number for your timer, refer to www3.sears.com with the model number off your washer.
