Question about Philips SpeechMike Pro 5274 Handheld Voice Recorder

Open Question

At Wizard setup, the error: "Unknown BC" appears

No sound is picked up from the device at wizard. It worked perfectly fine. The following actions resulted in gettting the message "VORStop" in the recorder bar: Start->settings->Sounds and devices Properties->Voice->Voice recording-> default device: select Speechmike.

After getting the VORStop message, I reverted back to original voice recording device, but VORStop message remains

SOURCE: won't playback or transcribe

2 things to check:
1. is the speechmike set as default playback device: go to Control Panel--> Sounds and Audio Devices; and in the opening window, go under the Audio tab; in the Sound Playback, the default device should be set to SpeecMike II if you want the sound to come out of the SpeechMike.
2. Playback volumes: still in the same tab, click the Volume button of the default device; it opens a set of volume controls; you need to ensure that for the WAVE, and Speaker (or Volume Control), the Mute box isn't ticked; you also want to set this volume to something not equal to zero (i.e. move the cursor up to at least 1/3 of the level).

I hope this helps.

I have a new MCP6P-M2 mother board. I have tried to install the lan drivers manually because there is no such option on the autorun disk. i still get the following error when using the Network Setup...

Install it from the Device Manager, but before you do that, if possible extract the driver and save it in a specific folder so that it'll make you easily locate when you browse from the "Found New Hardware" Wizard. Good luck.
