Just to the right of the "tilt" button on the lower left corner of the unit is a small round button the size of a pin head. This is the reset switch. Depress this button using a pencil or other pointy object while the unit is on. The unit should then restart and operate normally.

Frozen Screen

Mine does this from time to time. I pull the SD map card, power it off, and hit the reset button while the unit is unplugged. These units are notorious for this. But then again, they're inexpensive. No receipt ... well, you're pretty much stuck with it. No receipt, no return or repair.

Look near the SN # and press the reset button.

with the garmin off, hold down the right bottom of the screen and turn the garmin on, it will then ask you if you want to perform a hard reset. Choose yes and that should fix your problem.

You will need to reset the device.
1. On the silver faceplat, under the word "Garmin", there is a tab. Remove the silver-ish fram carefully by pulling on the tab with your nail then by the sides.
2. once removed, press the reset button.
3. Once reset, the unit should work properly.
