    Sorry I'm running it (or trying to) on a G4 mac which has 1.25Gb ram, and a SATA HD as well as an external, so I should have enough space

    Sorry I'm trying to run this program on a G4 mac, with 1.25gb ram and plenty of HD space including external and SATA drives. I should have posted the issue as mac related. The program is a Flash MX 2004 professional, but wont even open up long enough to let me get into the 'Help or About' menus.

It seems its due to some conflict in write data to your disk:

Adjust the Windows swap file and memory allocation.
Applications sometimes crash or lock up if there is not enough available memory. If all physical memory (RAM) is being used, Windows writes data to a temporary file, or swap file, on the hard disk (usually drive C). If the drive is full or doesn't have enough space to write to the swap file, the application may freeze or crash. Make sure your system meets the minimum requirements to run the application and that there is plenty of free space on your hard disk to allow for the swap file to be written (200 MB is usually sufficient).

Also scan your system with antivirus.

Is that a full version??

To determine which version of a program or browser you are running, open the program and access Help from the top menu. Under Microsoft convention (and typically followed even by non-Microsoft vendors), the version number can be found under the Help menu selection called 'About (program/browser)'. The version number is typically available at the top of the About page or next to the 'Version:' heading.

ITunes Error 13010 - How to correct this error in iTunes

As with any application in any operating system in this high tech computer industry today, there is always going to an error of some kind. How that error can be eliminated, is always the principal concern of any computer user of a Mac or PC.

One of the errors I would like to provide a tip for you, on how to resolve, is the "Error 13010" error message, which affects users of iTunes in Mac OS X.

The Error 13010 alert, will usually appear when a user is unable to launch and open iTunes. More often than not, however, the fix for this error is a relatively easy one.

Here are steps for you can implement to eliminate this error:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For Mac OS X

• Make sure iTunes application is closed.

• Click anywhere on the blank space of your desktop and Finder will appear near the Apple menu icon located in the upper left corner of your screen.

• From the Finder menu click on Go> then select Go to Folder

75f8e17.png

• You will need to type /Users/td7/Music/iTunes in the open dialog
box:

088c298.png

• This will take you directly to your iTunes folder.

• Within iTunes folder, locate and remove to the Trash,
the iTunes Library Genius.itdb. file

ad3284c.png

Once you have removed this file, close the Finder window and relaunch
iTunes.

Launching iTunes will restore a new iTunes Library Genius.itdb file
and as a result, no longer see the Error 13010 alert message.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the event that this procedure does not allow you to launch iTunes normally, you should remove iTunes and re-install the application.

But don't worry though, you will not lose your iTunes Library, as that remains untouched in the Music folder.

You are simply going into your Applications folder and removing iTunes application and then reinstalling it.

Here is the link for downloading and re-installing iTunes, as needed:
Download iTunes '09 for Mac

So now you have at least one workaround, from a number of iTunes errors, should it manifest, which you can use to resume normal functionality of your iTunes application.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I will be providing more tips in future articles covering workarounds like this, for the various error codes which can affect the functionality of either the Mac OS X platform or any applications installed within its volume.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As always, I hope this information proves beneficial to you in some way, if not now, in the future, should such an error like this adversely affects your iTunes application.

Thanks for reviewing this Mac OS X Fixya Tip.

Regards,

-Mactechtrainer

How do I load several swf files and use 1 xml?

The easiest solution is to put all flash files in sub-folders, and link them in Dreamweaver from the files in the root folder --- but the key, AFTER uploading to your server, is to change your MANAGE SITE CONTENT information with your host server. Specifically, change (advanced) PERMISSIONS to READ and EXECUTE (DIRECTORY). It's important that both are checked… If you don't do this you'll see that it works fine on your local machine, but not after uploading to your server.

Dreamweaver MX 2004 does not launch

Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Application Data\Macromedia\dreamweaver mx 2004

Rename the Configuration Folder to “Configuration old”.

Note: "USER" is your Windows username. If you are unable to see the “Local Settings” folder, it may be possible that you don’t have explorer set to view hidden files and folders. In explorer, click on Organize > Folder and Search Options, click on the View tab and enable “Show Hidden Files and Folders”. Click ok.

If you are making desktop application u need 3rd party flash software like mdm zinc or flashjester jugglor. it provides easy way to write on files. If you are developing web you need to use either php / asp which ever u know. If you know nothing better is doing in php. its easy and powerful. See below for sample php code. to send from flash you have to use sendToURL(request); in AS 3.0

$fileName = $_POST["filename"];

$xmlContents = $_POST["xmlcontents"];

$lastBackslashPos = strpos ($xmlContents, “\\”);
while($lastBackslashPos >0){
$xmlContents = substr($xmlContents,0,$lastBackslashPos)
.substr($xmlContents,$lastBackslashPos+1,strlen($xmlContents));
$lastBackslashPos = strpos ($xmlContents, “\\”);
}
$fh = fopen($fileName, “w”);
fwrite($fh, $xmlContents);
fclose($fh);

Plat swf files sequentionally from xml

I've finished your requirement almost but how do you read the swf files from the xml one by one? My code will parse the xml and open the swf files one by one and so you can only view the last swf file.

var myXML:XML=new XML();
myXML.ignoreWhite=true;
myXML.onLoad=function(success){
    if(success){
        for(var aNode:XMLNode = this.firstChild.firstChild;aNode!=null;aNode=aNode.nextSibling){
            loadMovie(aNode.firstChild.toString(),_root);
        }
    }
}

myXML.load("sampleFiles.xml");

And your sampleFiles.xml should look like this:

<swf>
  <swf1>sample1.swf</swf1>
  <swf2>sample2.swf</swf2>
  <swf3>sample3.swf</swf3>
</swf>
