1st use printer clean cicle or computer clean cicle ( on printer driver in utils menu) normaly the ink only stays fresh for a few weeks without use, above 30ºC only a few days, printer dont know exactly how mutch ink available, only used and estimate ink level, evan dry ink cardrige. Better use a new ones and force replacement cicle.
It is a great high volume printer with few problems, It doesn't like generic inks so if you don't buy the OEM inks you will see more problems like printheads failing at around $50.00 a pop. With the right inks and a little care it should give you years of excellent printing.
Usually when my printer (HP 2250 Business InkJet) does that, it also has the word, "initializing" printing on the lcd screen. Sometimes it ends with an error message now. This printer is getting old, so I'm beginning to expect that it will fail me sooner or later.
Check the people at HP and see if they can help you. Most of the time, they're very good and helpful, too.
1 Ensure that the printer is turned off.

you know, I have a 2710 hp wireless AIO, and it is really crappy wireless. As far as the "detailed" manual says, you can connect wirelessly via an ad-hoc, or one to one mode. But this knocks out you're current wireless network. Example, I can't print and surf with Ad-hoc. You should however be able to connect to the wireless network though. I can with mine. But only if it isn't secure. Anyhow, look online for hp's utilities, or maybe something thats already in your programs.
