I have a Aquaos HD TV and a Harmon Kardon AVR 130. I ran a Optical cable from the TV to the AVR 130 Digital Optical Input. Now the problem, there doesn't seem to be a "set up' in the menu for the Optical cable. i.e. CD, DVD, TAPE ect. Please help!

need a lot more info. from what you are telling in your problem, that is not possible. i need to know everything that you have in your system and how it is hooked up and with what type of cable. i would also like to know a list of the inputs and outputs of the componats (how they are marked on the back of the unit) that you are useing.

The next thing that you need to do is to check the setup of the stereo. Look at the owners manuel to find out how to set up the optical inputs.

The BT205 only has a HDMI Out so you need to connect both your BT205 and Apple TV to your TV either directly or through your splitter (depending how many HDMI Inputs your TV has).

You then need to connect either the Digital or Analogue Audio Port from your Apple TV to your BT205 and select the Audio Output from your BT205 as detailed on Page 27 of the manualat the link below.

http://tda.panasonic-europe-service.com/docs/2z4e3b157ez3z2a0dbz656ez706466z21z3703f025f4fa80ffdb9e5a7957895ca96b778f45/tsn2/data/ALL/SCBT205/OI/812908/rqt9445-b.pdf

This will give you the picture from your Apple TV to your TV via the HDMI and the Apple TV sound to your BT205 via the Audio Port.

No tv sound. Dvd works alright. Have hdmi cable from theater sys. to tv. Cannot figure out how connect red, white or yellow cables.

By Visio "55 I'm presuming you mean the Vizio VF550XVT.

First you need an Audio Cable (Red/White RCA Connectors) and with everything turned off connect it to your TV where shown below.

andys_elec_6.jpg
The other end of the cable will then connect to the Aux In 2 of your Samsung HT-Z320 as shown below.

andys_elec_1.jpg
Once connected you can turn your Vizio & Samsung back on.

You then need to use the AUX button on your Samsung Remote Control to Select Aux 2.

And on your Vizio Remote Control follow the Instructions below.

To listen to Tv program sound through your home theater system you will have to connect a pair of RCA to RCA cables (Red and White pair ) from the audio out socket of the TV ( some times three sockets Yellow/Red/White labeled Monitor out. Ignore the yellow as it is video out ) to the Aux or CBL/Sat input of the LG system. Then to listen to the sound through your LG HT system switch the Input selector of the LG to Aux or CBL/SAT. Will work for sure.

PC Sound Card Connection to Denon AVR-2805 or Samsung 40B610

  • Should I be connecting my pc sound card directly to the receiver or to the tv then to my receiver to get the best sound output? To your reciver
  • When I get the HD Digital Tuner, does that make any difference for the pc connection?
  • Try to connect everything that is sound onto your reciver then
  • connect all your video to your your TV for now
  • When you get your digital tuner connect all your inputs for video to(in order >reciever>HD Tuner>TV
  • Basicly everything goes to your tuner first.

Connecting TV and DVD for surround sound

HDMI is fantastic in that's the only thing you need to plug in to get what you want.
You'll need two of them however. Plug one end of the HDMI cord into the HDMI "OUT" on the dvd player and the other end of it to the receiver..labeled HDMI 'IN' Then, take the second cord and do that step with the receiver back to your big screen...HDMI OUT to IN.
Surround sound from TV sources only needs a L&R audio cable connected to the receiver input labled TV or MONITOR audio IN. Unless you'd like 5.1 dolby digital or DTS from the television that requires devices that you haven't mentioned owning. In that case you will be able to get Dolby ProLogic and Pro Logic II from stereo broad casted sources on your TV.

Check out Onkyo's website: The HT-SR 800 description says "a separate audio connection is necessary" Maybe it is true for the --750 too.
