Obviously you need to check the cables and the speakers. If that is all good make sure the volume is up on both the speakers and the OS. Next make sure you have the sound drivers installed for your computer.

Sound not working

The same model ThinkStation can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkStation, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: - http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?template=%2Fproductselection%2Flandingpages%2FbrowseByProductLandingPage.vm&sitestyle=lenovo&brandind=10&validate=true

Optiplix 780 soun problem

What kind of sound problem? Tell us what is happening?

Do you have the speakers plugged in the right port (light green port)? Have you checked to make sure the speakers are turned on and the volume is up? Have you looked at your Audio/Sound Properties to make sure the volume is up and the sound is not muted? Have you checked the device manager to make sure none of your sound/audio devices have a problem?

If you have a megaphone at the bottom right near the time Doubloe Click on it and make sure nothing is muted and volume is turned up. You can also get to the Audio Sound properties in the Control Panel, click Start/Control Panel and look for Audio/Sound. You can get there by clicking Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Volume Control.

Then go to control panel, system ,hardware ,device manager option
There if u find any question mark or exclamation mark in yellow Color that means sound drivers are not installed properly
please reinstall sound drivers properly

or else

If no question mark or exclamation mark then check the cable connections of the speaker to the machine

or else

In control panel , select sound audio devices open it there u have
volume,sounds,audio,voice,hardware options

1)See whether it is mute
2)In audio option select default audio device and recording device

SOUND ON MY COMPUTER

Hello1

please tell me the model of your computer, so that i can find driver for that device.

However, if you have CD/DVD utilities enclosed in the computer from the vendor then install that utilities. you should install the chipset, VGA, audio and other necessary drivers. (please install that in series to avoid errors on the computer.
