Fujitsu Esprimo Mobile V5535.Windows Vista Basic as OS.Was on internet and downloaded flash software (1st foreign software to be downloaded as laptop is 3 days old), went fine, did virus scan with norton before disconnecting internet, then shut down laptop. Next day tried to switch on laptop and it won't boot unto Vista.Keeps repeating message that "a" software related problem must be removed before it can boot, but can't get into OS in order to do that.Tried booting under all options after pressing F8 but nothing works, same message keeps appearing.Tried booting from manufacturer's OS Recovery DVD but same message appears.3 days old, still under warranty so I can simply involve Fujitsu, but if solution is something I can easily do I'd rather do that and get on with using the laptop. Please help. Many thanks.
Sounds like you have not only a vista issue here, but a potential boot sector virus...if it won't boot from cd, then there's a major issue with that machine.Fujitsu to the rescue, looks like to me

1. Go to: http://ts.fujitsu.com/support/manuals.html 2. Under the "SELECT PRODUCT" section, select "Notebooks" from the "Please select the product line" drop down menu. 3. Select "ESPRIMO Mobiles" from the "Please select the product group" drop down menu. 4. Select "ESPR|MO Mobile V" from the "Please select the product family" drop down menu. 5. Select "ESPR|MO Mobile V5535" from the "Please select the product" drop down menu. 6. A page will be displayed with a list of all manuals available for download for this laptop model. Click on the one you would like to download, then proceed with the instructions to complete the download.
Try Safe Mode. Press F8 key during bootup and you will be presented with a black screen with multiple choices. Select "Safe Mode". This will load Windows with minimal drivers and with admin login option. If you can log in as administrator then create a new account in the Control Panel. Restart the computer and shut down. If it shuts down correctly then you are half way there, windows OS is not to badly corrupted. Boot up and if it comes up normally select the new profile you created.
If this does not work, then you will have to repair the system files, for which you will need a OS CD or restore disk.
if you formatted it then your probably going to have to get online via another computer, or a wifi connection if you have the drivers for it, and download the drivers, then install them to your laptop. By (re)installing vista (unless of course your using a recovery cd for that exact model) you ended up with nothing more then the basic OS with the absolute basic drivers.
