The Platter won't move and I'm not sure how to get into the turntable
because I don't have a service manual but I think it may have
somethingto do with the drive belt. I'm also not sure on how old
the turntable is.

Take off the felt and the platter. Take some lint free cloth and rubbing alcohol and rub down the pulley. You can also use compressed air to dry it off. Also use the same method to clean and dry the underside of the platter. Put the belt around the ridge on the underside of the platter. Put the platter back on the turntable. Reach inside the access window on the platter and grab the belt. Hook the belt around the pulley. Rotate the platter to make sure it won't fall off. Put the felt back on and you are ready to go!
Hi, sounds like the belt was not refitted when the motor was replaced. To replace drive belt on a Crosley turntable. 1. Remove the cir-clip holding the platter in place from the base of the centre spindle. 2. Lift the platter off. You may need to use a flat blade or some similar tool to get under the platter in order to lift it up. 3. NA. 4. Place the belt around the platter pulley making sure it is sitting flat without any twists. 5. Flip platter over the right way up 6. You will see 3 rubber grommets in the platter surface. Remove 1. Through the hole insert a belt hook, crochet hook, kebab skewer, knitting needle type tool and slip it between the platter pulley and belt in readiness to fit over the motor pulley.
Sounds to me like the bellt has slipped off. To replace, lift the platter off the table. On the inside of the platter you will notice a second ring, or rim. the belt should be put on the outside of the second rim while the platter is still in your hands. Next, slide back the platter and look for the spindle running the platter through one of the big holes in the platter. Slip the belt onto the spindle and turn with your hand to make sure it runs freely. Hope this helps
Lift the platter off the turntable. You can identify the
motor spindle by using your fingers to turn the round shaft which rotates
freely. Remove the rubber mat off the platter. Place the belt around the outside
of the drum on the bottom of the platter. From the top of the platter, place your finger in one of the platter
holes and tension the belt so it will not fall off or twist. Griping the
platter trough the holes while keeping tension on the belt place the platter on
the turntable aligning your finger with the belt to the motor spindle.Place the section of the belt on your finger over
the motor spindle. Replace the rubber mat on the platter.
01- Remove the rubber cushion.
02- Remove the Turntable Platter
03- Place your drive belt around the ridge inside the platter
(Make sure that it is not twisted)
04-Place your Turntable Platter back on the unit
05-rotate your platter until you can see a brass knob through one of the round holes in the turntable. (Your belt must be placed around the brass knob) The best way is to take a toothpick and carefully slide it under the drive belt and then pull it out enough that you can place it around the knob. I had the same problem and the above works. If you still have problems getting it back on contact me 352-377-1828......
