Is the video card very expense and it is as simple as popping out the old and popping in the new?

Thanks for your input.

Hi buddy,
sorry i did,nt get back to you regarding this.
Try e-bay. you,ll get what you want on there at a reasonable price.
They,re not rocket science to fit. i stripped a laptop down today, replaced the motherboard in 1.5 hours from start to up and running again on a toshiba tecra M2.
i can,t see why people make a big issue about laptops.
if you get a card, let me know and i,ll tell you how to fit it, without the big expense of taking it into some repair shop, that will keep it for a week and charge you a fortune.

Laptop Video cards are usually more expensive and harder to take out that Desktop ones. Usually involve taking apart the whole laptop. Most of the time they can not be upgraded.

If you suspect a defect I recommend bringing to a local repair center for diagnosis.

Dell inspiron 8500 laptop screen goes white

hello, when the screen changes colors or stays in one color it is mostly cause of a video card problem. Does this happens only when overheated, then maybe you can blow the cpu-video card heatsink and use a base with a fan to avoid overheating. If the screen is white all the time then maybe only a 2nd monitor will help understand if this is a problem of the video card or the screen.

B key on my Dell Latitude popped off

Generally, once a key pops off a portable keyboard the keyboard needs to be replaced. It is pretty simple to replace and not too expensive.

Here is an example of a replacement on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-KEYBOARD-DELL-8500-500M-Latitude-D505-D600-D800_W0QQitemZ250338315590QQcmdZViewItemQQptZPCA_Mice_Trackballs?hash=item250338315590&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1234%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

To replace the keyboard, just remove the hinge cover, take out the screws for the keyboard and lift the keyboard to release the cable connector.

Display

the moment you power on your system strat tapping F2 key
you will get a system setup screen if you dont get it as suggested before connect an extrnel monitor then press and hold Fn key and while holding it down press F8 it will toggle the display
if you get a video on external monitor LCD needs to be replaced
if you don't then its either systemboard(if video card is integrated)
or the video card
provide me your system's service tag located at the bottom pannel of your system, turn it upside down you will find a bar coded sticker which has a 7 digit alphanumeric number
i will be able to provide the best resolution

Hi,
Best Option Is To Purchase Another Video Card, Or check it has all the required Drivers Via The external Monitor. With No Conflicts Et,c. Only Other Suggestion Is Screen Inverter Board.

Thankyou For Using FIXYA.
