Question about Dell Inspiron 8500 Notebook
Is the video card very expense and it is as simple as popping out the old and popping in the new?

Try e-bay. you,ll get what you want on there at a reasonable price.
They,re not rocket science to fit. i stripped a laptop down today, replaced the motherboard in 1.5 hours from start to up and running again on a toshiba tecra M2.
i can,t see why people make a big issue about laptops.
if you get a card, let me know and i,ll tell you how to fit it, without the big expense of taking it into some repair shop, that will keep it for a week and charge you a fortune.

Laptop Video cards are usually more expensive and harder to take out that Desktop ones. Usually involve taking apart the whole laptop. Most of the time they can not be upgraded.
If you suspect a defect I recommend bringing to a local repair center for diagnosis.
