I guess I have the same problem. Not quite sure yet. It seems it just cannot be charged and now it doesn't even work anymore. It was heated up to 50-60'C (120-140'F) obviously beause something was wrong. Brand new. Charged it only twice so far.

The battery doesn't work. Cannot be charged neither through device
holder nor without it. The shaver gets abnormally hot when I try to
charge it. Up to 60-70'C (150'F). The charging light never blinks. The shaver does work when I connect it directly to an electrical outlet.

Hi... I have the same problem, I got my shaver 2 days ago, and it is written that you need to charge it for 4 hrs in the first time and then the light willl start blinking as an indication that the batery is ful !!! I noticed the following :
1- After 15 Mintues the light simply turn off without any blinking !!!
2- The shaver is charged and runs for almost 1 hrs !!!!
Is this is a fault ??? shall I bring back ...

Why have I got a red light on the bottom of my shaver when I am using it

It is common for many Braun shavers, that if the indicator light flashes red while the shaver is being used (switched on and running), it means the battery is low and needs to be charged soon.

Below is an example from a manual for a Braun model 7526 shaver. You can search that site for other manuals if this is not the correct one.

This model shaver has 3 indicator lights:
1) Green (Charging)
2) Red (Low battery)
3) Blue (Power cord attached and plugged into the wall)

Download the manual for the model 7526 here: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/20281/Braun-5301.html#manual

"The green charging light shows that the
shaver is being charged. When the rechargeable
battery is fully charged, the charging light
flashes or goes off.

If later on, the charging light comes on
again, this indicates that the shaver is
being recharged to maintain its full
capacity.

The red low-charge light flashes when the
battery capacity has dropped below 20%,
provided the shaver is switched on. The
remaining capacity will then be sufficient
for 2 to 3 shaves."

How do i reset my braun 5790 shaver.

Fully charge the unit then turn it on and let it run until the batteries are fully discharged....do this cycle a couple of times and it should reset the display to be accurate with the charge on the battery.

Just bought a norelco 8240 xl razor . when i charge it the light blinks green off and on. how do you know it fully charged. it was charged for 12 hours and was still blinking. is this normal.

The light blinks when the shaver is fully charged. This information is sated in the user manual that came with the shaver. If you do not have the manual you can view it at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Clean and Renew stand for braun 8595 does not seem to cycle properly...after shaving and placing in unit, it randomly seems to clean and is stuck on cleaning cycle (normal light blinking, no charge) I then...

The circuit board on the shaver may have become faulty. One thing you can try is to fully charge the shaver first, directly connected to the outlet, and then try using the cleaning base. Also, be sure that the fluid level is sufficient. Lastly, you may be able to buy a used but working condition cleaning station off of eBay. New replacements are a bit costly.

Braun 5614 rechargeable cordless shaver light flickers

Your batteries are starting to degrade, but the good news is they're still holding a charge for a week, so you really don't need to rush to replace them at this point.

The flickering of the charged indicator is normal, as the shaver is still plugged in and the batteries are fully charged. The flickering is due to the batteries chemicals breaking down, and as such, the charge cycle keeps "topping" them off while it's still plugged in.

When you finally aren't able to get a decent amount of cordless operation and run times from your shaver, then you'll want to get them replaced, whether you decide to do that yourself or have it done by a professional service center, is up to you.

Here's a reference for your future use. www.electricshaver.com carries replacement (factory OEM) batteries for most brands of shavers and they also will provide the repair/replacement service for you, should you decide you don't want to do it yourself. You can also give them a call at 1-888-476-1785 and request a price quote, etc.

Anyway, your shaver is working fine and all you need to do is make sure you're not letting the shaver stay plugged in and charging constantly for more than a day, since any "extra" chargind isn't doing anything except keeping the batteries at a constant state of charge. Heat is a byproduct of charging and discharging any battery and as such, you want to allow for a cool down period before recharging them.

I tend to use my shaver until it is almost completely discharged before recharging it. By doing this, you can get the longest working life out of your batteries before you'll have to replace them.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Braun 7526 not charging the + light wont turn on? how can i fix this?

In your case, it's hard to know exactly what might be wrong without more information. Was the shaver perfectly fine and then all of the sudden won't turn on? Or was the shaver working for shorter and shorter periods over time and then just quit? Was it exposed to undue heat, such as left in a car or in a place that wasn't air conditioned in the hot summer?

Although the batteries in these shavers are fairly robust, if fully discharged and not used for a long while, it might be that they've got a "low level memory" and will need replacing. If you are handy, you could disassemble the shaver and replace the batteries. They are NiMh AA flat top batteries that you can buy on websites like onlybatteries.com. If you're handing with soldering, you can replace them yourself. If you're unsure about that, you can buy the batteries along with the circuit board as a complete unit that drops right into place. Shaveroutlet.com sells these.

Another thing is that if the shaver was dropped, there's a chance that a metal connector part has come loose and so the shaver won't function. Taking it apart, you can see if this is the case.

The Braun 7000 series are rather old at this point, so sending it off for repair is kind of out of the question, as the costs involved would be more than if you bought another shaver. If you're not wanting to spend the big $$ on the new 9000 series shavers, find a new old stock 8000 series shaver (they are better made than the 7000 series). You can search on "that auction site" and you'll find quite a few Braun 8000 (or 360) series shavers available for sale.
