Saeco Odea Plus Flashing rapidly: "Ventilate the water system" almost at every turning on?

For some reason, people don't think too often about how dirty the ventilation system is, even though it is essentially the air they breathe indoors. I think it is very important to at least sometimes do Ventilation smoke test, and also contact experienced specialists who can quickly and efficiently clean the ventilation. Such services are also provided by Grease Gone.

Clean unit

After making approximately 200 coffees, the internal brewing chamber and the
brewing unit must be cleaned (of coffee oils, etc.). The display will show
CLEAN UNIT alternating with the regular message. This indicates that it is time
to run the tablet cleaning cycle

My saeco is displaying ventilate. tried pushing the hot water button, and tried increasing the grind to a higher no. Neither are working. the flow of the coffee is just too little and it goes back to...

You might have a restriction or blockage in the brew head. This is from fine coffee residue and oils that will build up in the passages of the brew unit. To fix.
Remove the brew unit. Holding the handle, on the top left side is the brew head, there is an outlet pipe that exits the front side towards the machine. 2 screws hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold ("L" pipe assembly). Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (be careful, there is an O-ring, spring and at the end a black rubber disk or crystal ball). Do this over a towel to prevent loosing small pieces, mainly the crystal ball.
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember, thumbscrew), DON'T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers.
Once the screen is out, look at where the screen was. There are 2 holes. A big one in the center and a small one to the side.
With the brew unit upside down over the towel, insert a paperclip into the small hole and force anything out the other side. I have gotten worms almost a 1" long from this passage. The paper clip has to go from this side to prevent damage to the seat on the other side.
Clean then reassemble. Brew unit on towel right side up. Drop the crystal ball in first. Then the spring small end first on the crystal ball.
Now the O-ring over the spring, then place the manifold on top of that with the pipe towards the machine. Insert your screws (I turn them backwards a little with a little downward pressure until they feel like they drop into the threads. They should turn down easily, if not back them up a little more ( we are trying to find the old threads) and tighten. Install screen, and tighten with your fingers. The screen just needs to be flush with the bottom of the brew head. That should do it. Asker's Testimonial

After using oily coffee beans the machine drops one drop at a time how do I clean the coffee grinder and drip system alos it says after the rinsing cycle 'ventilate' how do I ventilate.

Hi
The ventilate is just opening the steam valve for just water. Don't push the button for steam. Your grinder needs to be a little coarser. Turn the big know in the bean hopper to a larger #, about 2 to 4
# higher.
You need to clean the brew head in the brew unit.
Holding the handle, the top left side is the brew head. There is an outlet pipe that exits the front, towards the door (looks like an "L" pipe). 2screws hold it to the top. Remove the 2 screws while holding the manifold ("L" pipe assembly). Once they are removed, lift the l assembly off (be careful, there is an O-ring, spring with a black seal (don’t loose it or your out of luck).
Now remove the brew screen, by holding the screen with your finger and twisting the thumbscrew (remember thumbscrew, DON’T use the key to install the screen, use your fingers...

Brew draw blocked

Ok if brew unit is displayed, the cause is the brew unit needs to be to cleaned of all old grease and coffee grounds.
Once cleaned you will need to regrease the big oring at the top of the brew unit, pretty much anywhere that moves needs to be lubed and the two smaller ones near the back of the dreg drawer.
In some cases a tight or siezed brew unit can damage the main control board.

After getting Replace Water Filter VEntilate display I replaced with Saeco Intenza water filter cartridge I have always used. However, unit does not move off this display after I press OK button. I have...

After replacing the filter in the tank, keep the button pressed; when the indicator light is flashing, then release the button.

Also at times, the gears in the brew drive assembly will not complete the cycle to the proper start position for different reasons. Some of the reasons are:

  1. Brew group jammed or blocked.
Note: A jammed or blocked brew group can happen when the brew group starts the cycle but doesn’t finish it.
  2. Either one of the micro-switches in the brew drive has gone bad.
  3. Brew drive motor failure.
  4. Broken teeth on either of the brew drive gears.
  5. Dirty brew group, covered by coffee grinds.
  6. Brew group or gears not lubricated.
  7. Connections to the board from brew drive assy., or motor have gone bad

Not making espresso from beans

Hi
Are your coffee grinds wet? If they are you have a clogged brew head. Remove the filter screen. Then remove the 2 screws that hold the outlet manifold to the brew head. There are 3 things under the manifold. O-ring, tapered spring and a crystal ball. Don't lose any of these items. Now to clean the brew head turn the brew unit over to where you can see where the brew screen was. You will see 2 holes, 1 large and 1 small. Take a paper clip and straighten it. Turn the brew unit upside down and insert the paperclip into the small hole. Push the paper clip through and remove the plug. I have seen them over 1/2" long. Reassemble the brew unit crystal ball first, small end of the spring on top of the crystal ball, place the o-ring over the spring and place the manifold on top making sure the outlet pipe is to the outside of the brew unit. Put the 2 screws back and your ready to go. Run a detergent for espresso machines like Cafiza through the brew unit every once in a while to keep it clean. It doesn't take a lot of detergent and use the pre-grind setting and a large cup selection but don't put any coffee in.
