Check your upper wash arm.... check the holes, especially the ones at the end of the arm. Are they possibly clogged with debris or hard water? This is the usual cause of dishes on the top rack not getting clean. The holes at the end of the wash arm are angled to eject the water at an angle to use the reaction to push the wash arm around. If those holes are clogged, then the arm won't rotate, and only those few dishes or glasses right under the arm will get clean, and the remaining 80% of the dishes on the upper rack won't get clean!
It is likely that sufficient water is not coming from the top arm. These dishwashers oscillate the water flow between top and bottoms sprays alternatively. This ensures water is pumped with adequate force. It is possible this mechanism is not working correctly. The device called check ball item 58 in this diagram actually does this function. The ball might be out of shape or not sitting properly causing incorrect wash water movement.
Check whether the top rack spray arm main hose sits firmly into the machine. If there is a leak in this area water pressure may not develop. Also check the water pump in the machine!
Trouble shooting here... but the same pumb that circulates water... vents it.... So, if the vent valve is clogged with food debris, then you would not retain enough water to wash all the upper rack dishes...
I recommend inspecting the exhaust tube port of the pump (a selenoid is the operating device for that valve). Be sure that it is able to operate freely (close all the way. Otherwise, it is just the pump intake!! only choices...you have already eliminated the rest (GOOD JOB)
maybe not... if unit is incorporating more than one spray arm, chances are the upper spray arm is not getting water.pull top rack forward, gaze under top rack near rear manifold.slowly push rack back in.notice if manifold inserts into upper wash feed.if so,possible motor issue. if not, bingo was his name-o!
I'm having the same problem. Did some testing and found that the sprayer on the top rack is not even moving and hence not getting any water. Not sure what to do.
it may be hard water or some other minerals in your water. there is a new product out called the dishwasher filtration system and it actually filters the water going into the dishwasher. i tried everything to get my dishes clean but nothing worked until i tried this system. my glasses all had a white, cloudy look to them and it was terrible. you can get it at www.dishwasherfilter.com. it is very affordable and works amazing. the filter fits right under the sink and solves the problem immediately. if you use the discount code DFMTEN you will get 10% off
