You could add your drive into another PC & burn your data to a CD/DVD disk. (That is the only way to retreive your data).

Good Luck & Kind Regards.

Do you have another working computer with a USB port? If yes, you can usually pull the old hard drive, put it in an enclosure and connect to the working computer. Then you will be able to transfer over the data.

Most enclosures cost about $40-$50. Just make sure you get the right one for the type of hard drive you have.

The easy way to recover your data is to take out your hard drive and connect it as a secondary drive in any other computer, then you can get back all the data. if this is not possible you can use many data recovery tools like Norton ghost, for your help. .

Remove the hard drive and put it into an enclosure. Plug it into another computer as a slave. Then you can copy your files on it.
If it shows up in 'my computer' as a drive letter(like E: drive) but you can't access it, you can recover data from hard drive with data recovery program. Asoftech data recovery is a professional data recovery program that can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data due to drives crash, physical damage, system sabotage, virus attack etc.

I have tried to repair windows 2000 professional on my desktop (Dell Optiplex GX150). I misplaced the original W2000 cd that came with the computer. I tried to repair using a new W2000 pro that I bought....

You can do a full installation, just make sure you set it so it leaves the filesystem intact (no format) so the windows will get reinstalled but all your files are still stored in the computer. I have done that many times on my own computer.

How to Recover Lost Data from Crashed Hard Drive?

The worst thing about crashing your computer is losing all your data. Pictures of years precious memories, importantdocuments in your business and current projects of weeks hard working---all arelost unless you have backed them up on a CD or memory stick. If that is it,it's heartbreaking!

There are still hopesfor retrieve your data. Taking the computer to arepair service is one solution. But it is so expensive (usually costs $1000 ormore), especially when recovering data.
eva123.jpeg
However, you can retrieve the lostdata from the crashed hard drive by yourself! Here is a step by step guidefor you to do so:

The first thing you should do
is toremove the crashed drive from the computer and install it as a secondary drivein another computer operating Windows Os. Make sure that it is detecting by thecomputer. After youhave set up the secondary drive, boot up Windows. Then you can copy and pasteyour files from the drive.

However, there are may be two trouble. One, you can'taccess the drive (means you can't open it); Two, your files are retrieved butyou can't open it!

Don't panic!Just download a data recovery program, and with a few simple clicks, you willbe able get your data back. Thereare some costly windows tools available for this. Here I recommend you two cheap ones:

>>Recuva
>>TenorshareData Recovery

Recuva is a free one. It doesn't work in very extreme casethough. It may turn out that your files are recovered but you can't open them. Ifthat's the problem there are more serious software solutions for this, like Tenorshare Data Recovery. It costs a bit but much more effective.

Next,
downloadTenorshare Data Recovery here. Be careful, do not install it to the drive that you are tryingto recover. Doing so could actually overwrite files that you want to restore.Install it on the primary drive that you are booting from.

Last,
when you use thistool, select 'Partition Recovery'. And within several clicks, you can retrieveall your data!

Besides,
if the hard drivecan't be recognized, you can try this trick. Put it in a sealed plastic bag toavoid condensation. Then put the drive in a freezer and leave it overnight. When you are ready, pull the drive out of the freezer and hook it up quickly.Act quickly because you may only have around 20 minutes to do this. I have seensome reports however, of this fixing the problem all together.

If it fails,
you will have to goto a recovery office (where offers recovery service) but let's hope not becauseit will cost you a lot of money and whether they can recover the data is notguaranteed.

Tips & Warnings:b>
  • The recovery tool mentioned above only supports for all almost Windows platforms such as Windows 98/2000/2003/NT, Windows XP, Windows 7, Vista. For Mac, you can google search to get one.
  • Find a friend who is good at computer to help you.
  • If your computer crashed because of a virus, copy the files to an external hard drive. Do not move directly to a new computer.
  • Hard drives are fragile. Be careful and do not drop it.
  • Run your antivirus software regularly.

How to Recover Deleted Files from Seagate Hard Drive in Windows XP?

Accidently delete important filesusing Shift+Delete keys in Windows XP? Can't get valued pictures back from therecycle bin after you emptied it? How to retrieve data from 'not recognized'hard drive and reconstruct inaccessible partition?

You'reLuck!Deleting or formatting won't make the data erased permanently.Thosedeleted data are still stored in the hard drive. They're just invisible orinaccessible.Only the FAT or NTFS table is erased (the information about wherethose data were saved), but the real data are still intact there in sectors ofthe hard drive.
So long as those deleted data are not overwritten by new data, it's highlypossible to recover them. The most effective way is to rely onsome data recovery program.

Tenorshare DataRecovery is a powerful data recovery program that can easily recover lost, damaged, formatted and accidently deleted data from your laptop or computerhard disk and all kinds of USB media drives. It can recover data afterdeeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data you accidentally deletedor formatted.
This program is equipped with four critical modules:"deleterecovery", "format recovery", "partition recovery" and"raw recovery". It can recover data after deeply scanning yourstorage device to look for lost data due to drives crash, virus corruptedpartitions, system sabotage, physical damage etc.
It supports for almost all Windows systems like Windows XP,Windows7,Vista,2000,2003,NT and common file systems (FAT12, FAT16,FAT32 and NTFS).You can get ithere: http://www.any-data-recovery.com/index.htm

It can RecoverLost Data Due to

Accidental deleting

» "Shift + Delete" without backup
» "Delete All" when deleting useless files
» Cut files instead of copying and pressing"Cancle" button
» Emptying Recycle Bin after delection
Formatting
» "Media/Drive is not formatted would you liketo format now?"
Virus infection/attack
Unexpected power off
Others
» Factory setting of device
»System reinstalling but want to retrieve the oldfiles
» Inaccessible partition or drive

Then,howto retrieve deleted files?

Withinfour steps, you can get back your data:
1.Select deleted recovery. It will take you a few minutes to scan your storagedevice;
2. heck the deleted datayou want to recover;
3.Select a path folder for the recovered files;
4.Click "OK" to finish recovery.

Onemore tip:

If the hard drive can't be detected(means can't showup in 'My Computer' as a drive letter like C: drive),you can try this way.Putthe hard drive in a zip-lock bag and put it in the freezer for 2-3 hours. Thenwhile it's still cold plug it into the computer. If it fails, you will have to go to a recoveryoffice but let's hope not because it will cost you a lot of money and whetherthey can recover the data or not is not guarantee.

I have a Dell desktop that runs Windows Vista. When I try to get on the computer, it seems to load but when it gets to the black screen with the scrolling/ moving bar at the bottom. It doesn't leave...

first, recover your files. You will need to use something like this data recovery program.
http://www.asoftech.com/adr/

I've had to use it many times in the past but in this case you need to plug that drive into another system as an external drive or slave drive and run the software from there. It will rebuild the drive and hopefully recover the files.

After you get back your files, you can then format the drive and reinstall your system.

I had to do a system restore and unfortunately all of my files are lost. Is there any way to recover them?

The only way to do this is with formal data recovery software, and even then there are no guarantees. I personally use BitMart's Restorer Ultimate Pro, which has been useful. It does require, however, that you remove the hard drive from your machine, place it in another (with the same operating system) that has Restorer installed on it, and then recover the deleted files to a drive on that other machine.

So...yes, even files deleted by a new OS install can usually be recovered, but the overall quality may not be perfect.

Hope that's helpful.

I cannot recover my hp A 350n computer...there is an system error, hard disk error...i am using windows home xp

Hard disk error means hard disk error.
Power OFF and open up the computer.
Check all power and data cables to the hard drive.
Close it up and turn ON.
Not likely to work....
The hard drive needs to be replaced.
If you need more assistance, please post...
