Check your car's fuse, if it is burned it means you might need a more powerful one. Mine has a 15 amp and works fine.

The only way mine will come on is if i connect the yellow and red wire together which makes it stay on how can i fix

Hi,

This is a car audio video unit
So to connect this unit electrically, they usually require 3 wires for power for it to switch on.
  • The thick black wire is a earth or negative wire, which connects to the negative side of the battery or to the body of the car.
  • Then there is a red and yellow wire.
  • The thicker of the 2 wires red or yellow is constant 12volt power, which should be connected to the positive side of the battery or to constant 12volts in the car wiring plug.
  • The other red or yellow which is the thinner of the 2 is a accessory wire, which means it has 12 volt power only when you turn the key to accessory or motor running.
  • So yes both RED and YELLOW require power for the unit to be on .
  • This is for radio station presets so it doesn't loose memory when you turn the key off, otherwise every time you turn the key you would have to store your stations again.

I hope this helps you.

Kenwood KVT-815DVD Unit only buzzes

I bought a Kenwood KVT-815dvd player and got everything hooked up to only find out that it had a security code. The problem now is that I got it from a pawn store and they did not even know that it had a security code on it. So is their a way I can bypass they password or just reset the whole unit so that it does not have one. Also, where is the memory for this unit?
Thank you

UNIT IS NO WORKING

The yellow wire is constant 12 volts and is used to maintain radio station presets, clock, and tone settings when the car is turned off. To use the stereo, you need the red wire hooked up to switched power (so that it's got power when the key is turned, and the power shuts down when you shut off the car). That's the one that'll give you "power" to the head unit.

Region problem

Try this for the tuner fix. Turn unit on.Hold down (volume down and SRC )buttons and unit will power off.Keeping them in also press and then release the reset button(bottom right hand side) .Release the other 2 buttons and unit should now restart with 50khz fm spacing and 9khz am spacing. If you find out how to change region code,Post It

AVIC-N2 stopped working and wont stop flashing PLEASE HELP!

Sound like the ribbon cable because before breaking off completely the vibration of the engine can cause current to fade in and out(open and close circuit).

AVIC-N2 dies after year and a half

Contact Tech Support for Pioneer. They have a call back on the Flex Cable which is the source of all your problems. It took 2-3 weeks for the repairs. Although, now I have a problem with the screen rolling out.
