Just about any electronics/radio shop can repair your scanner, but for the best job with factory trained technicians, factory parts, and a repair warranty, you can take the unit to any Radio Shack and they will either have the job done locally or send it in for factory repair.
You probably just need a new set of batteries..batteries die like flies for no good reason, OR it needs a full discharge/recharge cycle, if rechargeable.
I have the EXACT same problem. I the clip on top is broken on mine. it appears you can repace in the inner clip. I am searching now online for that part. I will keep you posted or you have resolve this let me know, Today is 4/24/10 11:43 pst
try a salvge yard or at Ford dealership,be careful that from 92-96 they have changed alot,between light duty an heavy duty,and the difference in years as well.But i think you will be ok with used from 94-96,and i think that the heavy duty has a ratchet nut verses just a nut to hold the hub on
