First, check the basket that collects junk at the bottom. Another likely problem is a clogged line to the drain that usually plugs into the garbage disposer. You may try to disconnect that hose and plumb it with a coathanger or the like or hook it up to a shopvac to break the clog free.

How to hook up

Yes it only uses hot water. There should be a 3/8 fitting to hook up a water line. The drain hose connects to the air gap on the sink and when hooking up the power if there is no power cord be sure to hook up the black to black, white to white, and green to the green or bare wire.

The GE Potscrubber 600 door feels too heavy - some hinge/cable/spring seems to have failed. How do I diagnose and fix it.

The door has a dual spring link with eyelet hooks at each end. I have the same problem. You can access it by loosening the four screws of the bottom panel. The eyelet wire is about 6 inches in length at each end of the dual springs. You run the wire around the 2 nylon wheels located at each end of the unit's bottom. They hook up to the small protrusion at the very end of the unit.
Hopes this helps.

Check you electrical power box that feeds to the house. If this dishwasher is hooked up under a sink counter and there is a garbage disposal in the sink area the dishwasher should be hooked up to the same circuit that the dishwasher is hooked to. If the garbage disposal works then the circuit is good your problem is either in the connection from the plug to the dishwasher or in the timer section of the unit. Either way the unit wont operate. Check power into the unit then check power at the hookup from the dishwasher to the plug itself if all is good then timer has gone bad

Good luck hope this helped you some

Dishwasher stopped and will not start

Try jigling the ribbon cable that is connected to the control panel. These ribbon cables sometimes fail. Also check the fuse on the control board to see if it is blown.

Dishwasher drain hose.

Its ok to hook to the sink drain but an air gap should be inline with it to prevent sink water from backing into the dishwasher.

GE dishwasher will not start cycle

Yes,it could be a deffective inlet valve. But before replacing it check first water inlet line's filters (on its both sides) In case it will not help- test that the valve get power. In case it get power and doesn't work - You can easily open the valve and clean it from scale or other dirt. Be aware you should disconnect the power cable from machine before doing it !!!! Check as well for valve's coil resistance. In case you have no resistance measurement - you should replace for a new one Good luck!
