Question about Hitachi 53UWX10B 53" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

T.V. will not turn off

After t.v. is turned off, the red light is still on on the front of the set. Already have had a tech out to repair 2x in the last 2 years so I am not super excited about calling him again. Any suggestions I can try myself? I did try unplugging it and letting it sit for awhile but it did not work. Thanks in advance.

I've had a similar issue from day 1. I would shut off the T.V. at night and then wake up in the middle of the night and find it on ... not every time but way to often ... it was spooky. After this had happened dozens of times, I determined that it was only happening when the set was receiving an HD channel at the time it was shut off. So now I make sure that we're not viewing an HD channel when it is turned off ... and it doesn't come back on. I know it sounds nuts but it works.

You have a stuck relay. Check S902 in the power supply.

Sony KP 48S65 no picture good sound

The blinking red light should happen for 15 seconds when set is turned on--set is looking at the 3 picture tubes to see if voltages are all there--if not it does not turn the tubes ON.

Going to be a shop repair unless you get a older tech to come to home to try to fix it. Considering age of set it may be time to replace it?

Mitsubishi WD-82738 has no picture, makes short whirring sounds but won't turn on. Flashes 6 red lights then 1 yellow light and repeats sequence. Tried system reset but to no avail, light turns green...

After rereading the symptoms you descibe what you describe might be a faulty colorwheel. When the set is first plug up there is a small mechanal motor that has to reach certain speed. if this does not reach that speed the set will not allow the lamp to fire. The whirring sound could be the colorwheel trying to spin up. these break all the time. (its a motor and anything that moves eventally will not.) it a fairly simple rep;air thatn most quilfied techs can repair. Such a repair generally should take more than a hour to do

SD Tech you answered my panasonic tv with 3

OK, here is what I suggest you do----remove the light box from the set and unsolder all pins on both convergence chips----see if the set will turn on and light up---you can turn the set on with the remote--its receiver is at the top of the three black lens.

Red stand by light blinking

5 blinks = lamp driver (ballast) failure.

1-468-798-14 for the 610 model

replacement is done from the back of the set, should be straight forward, keep the red ballast wires apart for best results

if a tech replaced the red tube, you have an older tv where 5 blinks is the AKB error meaning your CRTs are getting old.

Tv will not turn on

The blinking red light is telling you that the set did not start up due to an overvoltage somewhere in the set. Most likely the main power supply has a fault like a bad regulator IC or a component associated with it, or there is a fault in the sweep power supply somewhere. if you have no electronic repair experience, play it safe and call out a tech to assist you with this repair. Good Luck.

Sony kp43t65 rear projection

The blinking light should help guide you to your problem, if you have any solid state repair experience. If you do not please refure to a trained tech as there are no user replaceable parts inside this set. Check this out http://www.techlore.com/article/15444/ Good Luck Ps Please dont forget to rate this thread.
