Question about GPS
I have a hummingbird wide vision depth finder.it came with the boat i bought and it works but the screen has a big sunspot on the screen and limits your view.i,ve been looking on e-bay but no such luck yet.i would love to find that unit because it fits on the dash perfectly and really i don,t want to go thru the trouble of mounting a new one if i can get away with buying the same one that i can just plug into the existing cradle.my question is:are there any other units[or models] that would plug into the wide vision cradle?while checking out units on e-bay alot of the cradles for other units looked similar.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: depth finder problem
Try adjusting the trim or get the boats nose up even to the point of porpoise (I think thats how you spell it) if the signal improves with the nose up you may need to lower the transducer more than the manufacturer recommends. the slight looking foward will also help. My current sounder works pretty well up to about 25kn

We have an old Hummingbird Depth Sounder (Wide 100, 94 model) and it turns on but must be on test mode or smething cause we can not get it off. Does anyone know or have a manual to solve this problem. Please help.

This is telling me that your cigarette lighter socket has +12VDC applied to it all the time EVEN when the ignition is turned OFF. This is not the fault of your Nuvi. On some cars, like Hondas, the cigarette lighter socket powers off when your ignition is turned off.
If you want it to turn off with the ignition, then you will have to power it from a +12VDC source that is controlled by the ignition.

SOURCE: 4150sx finder erratic depth
I had the same problem last time I was out in shallow water (in less than 2 metres of water) and I suspect that the problem was weed wrapped around the transducer but won't know for sure until I take it out on the water again. I had another problem re water temp which I'll enter separately.
