Question about Barebone Systems

1 Answer

Had a windows XP computer which broke and have since updated to Vista. However my printer (hp photosmart ? D7100 or the D7300 series) I am unable to install to be compatible with my new computer. Is this because the disc does state XP. If this is correct how can I get round this problem allowing my printer to become compatible with my computer. Many thanks! Terri-Ann

The drivers on the HP CD are probably not compatible with Vista.

I would suggest visiting the Hewlett-Packard website, navigating to their Support section, and downloading the new drivers for Vista.

hello..maybe the driver routines you have is too old..try windows live update or search for new routines from the manufacturer of your printer...in worst case you must use windows xp or 98 to make it work..i.e. buy a new printer.....worst case...good luck...Ron

goto start, right click on my computer,go to properties, click on the tab that says hardware. once your in there you should not see any red or yellow warning signs. look for your device and if you see there is an error by it you can do a few thing. if you right click the device you can update the driver first. then reboot. if that doesnt go through the same process but uninstall the driver then reboot. Make sure that hp doesnt have an update for that printer on there website. hope it works for you.
