I want to connect internet on my psp through a wireless access point but iam constantly recieving dns errors , what settings should be made on my psp and my access point? to solve the problem???

  1. Connect your router
  2. Open a brower window on your computer, preferably Internet explorer.
  3. Enter the IP address of the router (Ex: 192.168.1.1)
  4. Upon entering the IP address of the router in the browser it should direct you to your router box. If this does not happen then most likely your router box has been configured to a different IP address. To get this IP number run the set-up program.
  5. Now in the routher settings navigate within your router's settings dialog and locate "Wirless Settings"
  6. Check if you are assigned a SSID
  7. Check your region
  8. You should be on Channel 11. Sometimes the channel could different, in such situations make sure you are on the same channel.
  9. Check if "Allow Broadcast of Name (SSID)" is enabled
  10. Check if "Enable Wireless access point" is enabled
  11. Set authentication as "Open system". You will find this option under "Security Encryption (WEP)"
  12. Set strength of encryption as "Disabled"
  13. Now click on "Wireless Card Access List". You may need to provide your password again.
  14. Make sure "Turn on Access control" option is turned off "Disabled"
  15. You should now see your PSP listed. No, you dont see then on your psp, go to "system settings" and then to "system information". You will see MAC address, now make a note of this MAC address.
  16. Now in "Wireless Card Access List" select "Add". If you are not able to do this then enter the PSP's MAC address and click "Finish/Apply" when done.
  17. In WAN settings, verify that "Connect Automatically as required" is enabled
  18. In "LAN TCP/IP Settings" make note of all of the information included. You may need this later. You may not, but it's a good idea to take note of it now.
  19. Under "Router Status" make note of all the relevant information included here as well. You may or may not need it.

HOW DO YOU GET ON LINE WITH A PSP

Step1 – Go to Settings and then select Network settings
Step2 – Select Infrastructure Mode and start a [New Connection]. By setting up in Infrastructure Mode, you will be able to take advantage of the more exciting features of the PSP, such as browsing the Internet and playing games online with your friends.
Step3 – Access the WLAN Settings and select scan to search for an SSID of nearby access points. If you find more than one access point, simply connect to the one with the strongest signal.
Step4 – Once an SSID is found, select it (make sure you don’t rename it) and move to the WLAN Security Settings. You should note that if the access point is using WEP encryption, you will need to enter the WEP key manually (when the access point is detected, it will display the type of encryption it is running. WEP key should be displayed on your router. If it displays none, simply move onto the next step.
Step5 – Now you have a couple of choices of either Easy or Custom in Address Settings menu. I suggest you selecting the Easy option which will complete the Infrastructure Mode set-up automatically.
Step6 – Choose your Connection Name and enter it. A Setting List will be displayed. Press x button to save settings.
Step7 – Test Connection to make sure everything works. If all is okay, Network Settings will display Connection Name, Signal Strength, SSID, BSSID, Channel, Security and IP Address.
In a nutshell there we are, 7 simple steps to connect your PSP to the internet using a wireless router to enable you to start surfing the internet, playing games online with friends, exchanging pictures and downloading your favourite RSS channels.

EOC-3220 connects but no internet access

What are you using for Internet connects? do you have the Access point connected to a Router. or is it connected to the Cable or DSL modem. I will need more information to complete this. If you have a router is is set to give an IP address or do you have a static IP? If it is set to give a Dynamic ip change the access point to recieve ip address from router and same with computer. If your connected directly to the Modem with the access point and you only have one IP address it will be used by the access point and not allow the computer to connect.
for more help please provide your internet (DSL, T1, CABLE) if you have router,  how it provides IP, and how access point is connected to it.

Cannot Use Wireless LAN

the problem is common, you need to set up the psp manually and not let it obtain an ip address automatically. the easiest way is to find either your router ip address or your pc's ip address e.g if your routers ip address is 192.168.2.1, then your pc's allocated address will be 192.168.2.2, so set your psp address to 192.168.2.3. you will also need to set the gateway address, this is your routers ip address(the one you type in your browser to get into the routers settings).e.g 192.168.2.1. the DNS setting will be 255.255.255.0, all other address settings required will be the routers ip address eg 192.168.2.1.
