Hi girl7, when you tried to use your Norton CD it did a quick scan & saw another Norton anti- virus on your system, that is why it wouldn't install. The Norton's on your PC should give you a free one year subscription. So this is what I suggest you use. Check your PC & see if Norton is already installed. Here's how to. Left click on the start button once & slide up to Control Panel & left click on it. Windows Control Panel will open. Double left click on the Add/Remove programs icon. It will open. Scroll down & keep an eye open for Norton Antivirus or any Norton software program. If you see a Norton Program here, than Norton is already installed on your PC. You should find a Norton icon down by the clock as well. If you right click once on the Norton icon by the clock a pop-up will open & left click open. Question, you mentioned you have an open account with you at this time. Who do you have an account with? A link to your question you posted at FixYa is located at the top of this email along with a copy of that posting.
Most techs at FixYa will not suggest answer's to people's personal email address for two reasons.
1. We answer you & hundred's of peoples questions free & on our own time.
2. Most people who do receive an answer through their personal email address do not return to FixYa & vote.
Food for thought. Here's one more suggestion. When your Norton Antivirus software subscription is up, save yourself some money by downloading a free antivirus program.
Just click the link listed below to AVG.
