Question about Epson Perfection 1660 Photo Flatbed Scanner

Epson 1660 Flat Bed Photo Scanner

I cannot seem to turn off the unit without pulling out the power supply in the back.  The On/Off button does not turn the unit off.
Any suggestions?  Otherwise, the scanner works fine.

The Epson scanner (about 8 yrs old) doesn't shut off when attached to an iMac w/the Leopard operating system.  To "solve" the problem I bought a small desktop Canon LIDE 90 scanner that runs on 2.5 watts of power and uses 1 watt on standby mode.  It appears that they all need to be unplugged to shut down the power.

Hi - I have just bought an officejet 6500 and am having trouble getting it going - I put the ink in no problems, and I have downloaded the software... now it is flashing at me and saying turn off and turn...

Please connect the unit to a differnt power out let and verify the result. Also chek qwhether the Power cable and power module are working fine. Please make sure that you have removed the plastic tape by pulling the the orange pull-tab straight back.

Also please perform the following steps:

1. Unplug the power supply from the wall outlet.
2. Unplug the power supply from the back of the printer.
3. Wait at least 20 seconds, then plug in the supply back into the wall outlet.
4. Plug in the power supply back into the printer.
5. Press the power button to turn the printer on.

If the issue persists, please replace the unit as this is a hardware issue.

Tv will not turn on with or without remote

The power supply is broken. You need to replace the capacitors that are bulging inside. I did and now it works fine. I don't have any experience but I did it. Follow what this guy did. http://www.fixya.com/support/t1661054-akai_lcd_tv_power_light_stays_red_turn

HP C6180 all in one

Have an HP C6180 that would not turn on, no power. Unplugged and replugged the unit in the back - no fix. Unplugged the unit at the wall socket, reconnected and I thought I heard a faint click in the power supply. Hit the on button and the C6180 powered up - no issues. Without knowing for sure, possibly the power supply has some type of surge arrest safety switch.

No power after external power failure

The first thing I have to advise you is to change the Power supply unit. Before buying one change it with another one (probably from a friend's PC) and see if it is working. To remove the power supply unit, you need to remove your tower's case, and unscrew the power supply and remove it. the power supply is the metallic box on top of the computer at the back.

Will not power on after the electricity came back on in the house!

That capacitor is a run cap for the compressor. Your problem sounds like a faulty connection in the circuit which supplies power to the solid state electronics. The electronics will have a 115 VAC supply from the rest of the machine's circuitry, most likely running to a small transformer. Check for 115VAC when you attempt to start the machine. Trace the circuit until you find the point where the power disappears when the start is pushed. If this does not reveal the problem, replace the board that has the transformer on it. There is a faulty connection somewhere which is opening when power is drawn. It is also possible that the compressor is locked & drawing enough power to disable the rest of the machine. Try it with the compressor disconnected, before replacing anything.
