We were away on vacation, and upon returning, have discovered that our remote control does not work. We've replaced the batteries, and can tell that they are working because the remote will light up when certain buttons are pushed. However, it will not turn the TV on/off, and no other controls seem to work on the remote. Any suggestions for how to fix this?
Well the first thing you need to figure out is if the problem is in the remote or the TV, right?
So what I'd do is get a universal remote - they're like $5 at Target - and try to command the TV with it.
That's one quick, easy and affordable way to know where the problem is. And it gets you to have a spare universal remote, just in case.
Once you know more, you explore the options.
