Youd have to open the control panel and OHM out the switch with a mater to ck if it functions properly, however upon open panel its sometimes obvious that a switch would need replacing( for instance sometimes they're real corroded and dont switch on/off. sometimes they're physically burnt up and melted.

I cant get my dishwasher to start

Defective Door Switch? The next thing that could be causing your dishwasher to not start could be the door switch. This door switch is also sometimes called a door lock or door interlock switch. This switch is a safety feature and makes it so the dishwasher will not run if the door is open. If your dishwasher won't start, then it is possible this switch is bad. This switch is located inside the door panel. To determine if the door switch is bad, remove the control panel, locate the door switch, and test it for continuity.
Blown Thermal Fuse?Another part in your dishwasher that could be causing it to not start could be the thermal fuse. This fuse is designed to blow if the dishwasher overheats. If this fuse blows, it will need to be removed and replaced to make your dishwasher work. Most dishwashers have the thermal fuse located in the control panel area. To determine if the thermal fuse is bad, remove the control panel, locate the fuse, and test it for continuity.
Broken Door Latch? The part that holds your dishwasher door shut is called a door latch. 99% of the time this latch is made from plastic. If this latch becomes broken or cracked, it will prevent your door from closing properly. To determine if your door latch is bad, inspect your dishwasher door and be sure the latch is not broken.
Defective Main Control Board? The control board in your dishwasher supplies power to all components. If your dishwasher won't start, this could mean that the board is bad. If you have tested and confirmed working all the other steps above, then the control board in your dishwasher is most likely bad and replacing it would be a smart option at this point.

Stopped in mid cycle and wont restart

Hi....I think I can help you with this. I checked a troubleshooting site for Crosley dishwashers, and there could be a couple of reasons why the cycle stopped:
1. The thermal fuse shuts off power to the dishwasher if it overheats. If the thermal fuse blows, it will prevent the dishwasher from starting. To determine if the thermal fuse is defective, use a multimeter to test the fuse for continuity. If the thermal fuse does not have continuity, replace it.
2. The door switch prevents the dishwasher from running while the door is open. If the door switch is defective, the switch will prevent the dishwasher from running even when the door is closed. To determine if the door switch is at fault, use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity. If the switch does not have continuity, replace it.
3. The door latch ensures that the dishwasher door latches shut. If the door does not latch properly, the door switch might prevent the dishwasher from running. If the door latch is broken, replace it.
You can also find more related troubleshooting here:

You'll need the model number for your particular dishwasher.
I hope this has helped you.

Hi. My GE Triton Dishwasher GSD5500G01WW is dead. No lights or anything. I checked the breaker. It was fine. Any ideas?

hello there and welcome to fixya
Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it. To determine if the door switch has failed, watch the part testing video at the bottom of this page. Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors. Timer or selector switch Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.

Power comes in to dishwasher but none of the lights come on and dishwasher will not operate

Hello

Your dishwasher may not be receiving any power. It is somewhat difficult to check for power at the plug outlet because the plug for a dishwasher is usually behind the unit. You should make sure all the circuit breakers of your circuit breaker panel are in the correct positions, or check to make sure no fuses of your house fuse panel are blown.

A properly functioning door switch will shut your dishwasher off when the door is opened. A defective door switch may not allow your dishwasher to operate at all. Examine the door switch and test it. If it is inoperable, it will have to be replaced.

It isn't very common, but it is still possible that your dishwasher's cycle selector switch has become defective. Test the switch to determine if it is the cause of your problem. Replace it with a new one if it is.

Your dishwasher timer will not function if its motor is defective. And if your timer is not functioning properly, then the dishwasher itself will not function properly. Test your dishwasher's timer motor, and if it is broken, you can replace either the entire timer assembly or just the timer motor.

Dishwasher won't start

Hi,
The door latch pulls the door tightly closed to prevent water leakage around the door. It is also designed to prevent operation while the door is open. The door latch works in concert with the door switch to ensure that the door is tightly closed and latched
The door switch is a separate part from the door latch and is found inside the cabinet. The switch is off when the door is open. Depressing the switch closes the circuit and enables dishwasher operation. Closing the door does not depress the switch all the way. Only when the door is closed and latched, does the door fully depress the switch.
If the door latch is not properly aligned it may not pull the door tightly closed and the door switch will not be fully depressed. Unless the switch is fully depressed the dishwasher will not operate.
It is a simple matter to determine whether the door latch is the problem. Simply open the door, close the latch and select a cycle and depress the switch. Note that if the test is successful, with the door open, the dishwasher will operate and water may spray out. Make sure to first remove all tools from inside the dishwasher. Do not reach inside the dishwasher during the test. Now, inspect the cabinet where the door makes contact with it and locate the door switch. It may have a protruding button or spike or more likely it is a hole with a piece of metal or plastic inside it. You must fully depress that switch. If the switch is recessed, then use a non-conductive object, such as a wooden pencil, to depress the switch.
