Click start control panel administrive tools computer management then select event viewer depending on what operating sytem you have this may vary
extend the events there you will see errors in red you will no what exactly what the error was and at what time it occured you might have to uninstall then reinstall the program and its files
uninstall the program, reboot your computer, and then install the latest version again from scratch.
Then try uninstalling some unnecessary programs
also you could run the check disk utility
click start run type cmd then type chkdsk/r/f which will scan for and attempt to repair any bad sectors and automatically fix any corrupt files on your hard drive this should schedule to happen when you restart your computer then defragment your hard drive
do not do anything while chkdsk is in process any input will damage your computer

Hello, I have the MIDI kit and it is pluged in, how do I get the music to the keyboard or keyboard music to the computer? I want to recoard some music for singing, please help. Thank you, Princess

In Device Manager (I am assuming you are using Windows XP) you will find your MIDI devices under Sound, Video and Game controllers. It is possible that the MIDI port has not been enabled in BIOS, I have had some PCs where this had to be done first. If Fruity Loops doesn't give you any available MIDI port to use it does not sound as though the PC knows it's there or has installed the driver properly. Start in Device Manager - if there's no MIDI port there or it's not working for some reason you'll have to fix that first.

My MIDI won't play back even when I play the file, no matter which program I use to play it. The computer I use is a Compaq Presario, I have Cakewalk Home Studio 2002 on it, and my sound card is SB X-FI...

The default MIDI setting of your PC may have been set for another MIDI device (for example, if Cakewalk Home Studio has been used with a MIDI compatible keyboard). Go to... Control Panel / Sounds and Audio Devices / Audio / MIDI music playback and change the setting back to your soundcard (and set as default if you prefer).

Error code 88780078

Check these things:

1) Click the Start menu button > Click Control Panel (Or Settings > Control Panel), Click Sounds and Audio Devices > Click the Audio Tab: Do you have a Default Device listed under Sound Playback and MIDI playback?

This also may say "Available Device" which you could change to the other option in the drop-down menu as a test. If you change it, restart first, and then attempt sound.

2) Press and hold "Windows Logo" Key + Press the "Pause Break" key on your keyboard > Click Hardware tab > Click Device Manager:

Do you have a multimedia driver configured and installed with no problems. (Problems being exclamation points or with a red "x")?

There are many other issues that can cause this. Please check these first and let us know.

Error code 10 and 39

A Code 10 error usually occurs due to:
Missing device driver
Malfunctioning device driver
Incomplete device driver files

to fix it..........
updating the device driver for the faulty device

1st) To update the driver, select the System option from the Control Panel.
2nd) In the System Properties dialog box, select the Hardware tab,
3rd) select the Device Manager button.
4th) Scroll through the Device Manager window and identify the faulty hardware device.
5th) Right-click on this device and then select the Update Driver command. Next, follow the screen instructions to update the driver of the selected device.

Electronic drum kit, with USB out, problem

Sounds to me like you have the midi tracks outputting to the microsoft midi mapper or wavetable synth, which is built into the sound chip in your pc, and that this is conflicting with the mobilepre sound card - midi is just data, no audio, needs to drive some kind of synth. what you want to do is disable your internal sound card thru device manager, then just use the m-audio mobile pre as the input/output sound card in ASIO mode - you'll need to monitor via the headphone jack on the mobile pre or plug speakers into the line outs on the interface.

Then do tutorial 8 (in help files) on using soft synths - INSERT>SOFTSYNTHs creates a midi track and an audio track in a track folder.

Good luck.

The dude.

No sound...?

Uninstall the sound drivers from device manager, then reboot. It will find the sound devices and reinstall the drivers, then you may need to adjust the sound settings.

Audio probleam

Hello.
The driver for that, should be included in the sound device drivers
Look on the website of your motherboard manufacturer and get the updated drivers for that board.
But if you can't get it for any reason, be worry only if you are a musician, MIDI is stand for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, and its used to connect musical instruments like a Keyboard for example.
Its used too for Game Controllers( joistick for example).

Hope this help.
