Question about Computers & Internet
My acer aspire e380-ud421a is suppost to hold 4gb of ddr-2 memory. It will only let me put in 3Gb. Ive had it tested and memory has to be upgraded in pairs and I did that. With 4GB it locks up or reboots every few minutes. I have tried pc2-5300, pc2-6400,and the pc2-4200 and they all do the same. What do you think the problem is.
Install a 64 OS, or an OS with Physical Adress Extention.
32 Bit Operating System can only adres 4GB, but that is Ram + VGA Ram + Memory reservetion for other hardware.
That leaves you with something between 3GB and 3,7 GB Ram on a 32 bit OS.
And don't ever buy Ram from Acer unless you like to pay extra for older ram.

You can only use components compatible with Aspire series computers. Before you choose new components, please ask your authorized Acer dealer whether the part will operate within your Aspire series system. This is noted in your manual pg. 6.
Compatible memory for your Acer. Don't forget your Acer uses an intergrated graphics card that uses your system memory to function.
Good Luck & Kind Regards.
