    When i turn on my mp3 it tells me please format unit. and it will not read on my windows media player

    man dis **** is pissing me off. all it says it boot error please format unit and ive been trying to fix this since 2007. and it still dont work. i found the format menu and it formats for 10 seconds den im faced with the same problem. if yall dont know how to fix it, stop getting our hopes up for fixing it cause evrytime i think its going to workl it doesnt.

plus it in. go to my computer. double click on the opal icon. you will then see internal storage. Right click on that and hit format. Then it should work. I had the same error and it worked for me.

you need to contact sandisk to get a firmware upgrade done in your device..the firmware is damage..once you do that you should be able to boot your device...

It might be cause by a corrupt firmware. You need to have a utility that restore the mp3 player to its original setting. i had exactly the same problem with my ipod shuffle 1st generation 2 years ago. Good thing Apple has that utility for me to download and until no it is still working. I had the same probleme, go into your COMPUTER files, then into you mp3 file mine is calle M51series, right clic, format.

your boot file is corrupt so it wont boot u will need to use a computer to format it. plug the mp3 player into ur computer go to my computer right click the mp3 player and select format. Format will wipe everything off ur mp3 player

Since you are getting a boot error formatting the device will not solve the problem..you will need to get the firmware upgrade...

Error??


In Windows XP, rt click my computer. Scroll down to manage and click. Find disk management on the left and click. Your player should show up as a disk drive and you should be able to formt it here.
