The two 12 inch subs are Visonik V12D4. In a standard carpeted wood box from visonik i got in a 1000 watt kit.

  • kyle Jackson Apr 02, 2008

Ya it worked ok it seems that it still isnt hitting. The amp has positive negative positive negative. Should i run all four wires off the far positive and far negative of the amp? I tried a lot of solutions and they seem not to work.

  • kyle Jackson Apr 04, 2008

Do you have a diagram? Do i take two wires from the positive of sub "A" and take the other positive to Sub "B". So there are 2 wires or one wire coming off the far end of the positive of the amp. Is connecting them all together negative to negative positive to positive from sub to sub?

  • kyle Jackson Apr 04, 2008

How would i wire the back of the box if the back of the box from the amp when my box looks like this?

    Looking at back of Box

    Left back Back Right

    - + - +

There are only one set of prongs how would that work in a diagram? Sorry for the trouble!

In all reality, that amp is probably a bit small for those two subs. To maximize the power from the amp to the subs, make sure:

  • The dual voice coils of each sub are in parallel (+'s together, -'s together). This makes each sub 2 ohms.
  • Connect the subs in series (+ to -). This makes the combination of subs together 4 ohms.
  • Bridge the 2 channels of the amp to the subs in series (see above).
This will put somewhere between 150-200W to each sub.

Keep in mind, though, that depending on the music type and location in the vehicle, the type and size of the sub box is going to make almost as much difference as how much power is on the subs. Sealed boxes are usually small and have a nice flat response, but tend to need more power to sound louder. Ported and bandpass boxes are larger and aren't as flat of a response, but have nice loud peak at a certain frequency.

Let me know if you need any more help!

I think you've almost got it:

    1. Take the two "+"s of Sub A and connect them to the far positive connection on the amp.

    2. Take the two "-"s of Sub B and connect them to the far negative connection on the amp.

    3. Take the two "-"s of Sub A and the two "+"s of Sub B and connect them all together.
That will bridge the amp at a 4 ohm load, the max for the amp. But like I said, with only about 150W going to each sub, they subs may be somewhat underpowered. Also, compare your box with the recommendations from Visonik.

It may be that the dual 4 ohm voice coils of the subs are already tied together. Take a multimeter and check the left +/- pair and the right +/- pair on the back of the box. If they measure about 2 ohms, you're good. You can connect it like below:

If they do not measure 2 ohms, it'll a different setup.

What do the left +/- pair of jacks and right +/- pair of jacks measure?

I have 2 12 inch kicker rt dual 2 ohm subs. On a kicker cx1200.1 i want to kno how to hook it up to 2ohm to the amp. And if i can add another 10 inch kicker rt 2ohm sub in the future.

Do to the impedance Of your sub u can't run it @2ohms its going to either be @1ohm or 4ohms and your amp isn't 1ohm stable and u will risk damaging your amp. So your only option is to run it @4ohms and on a good note your sub is 100-600 watts RMS and your amp will push 400-500 watts RMS @4ohms. Now if you want to run 2 sub's in the future That amp will work perfect because it pushes 1,200watts RMS @2ohms and to wire your 2 sub's @1ohm just follow the steps in the image below. Hope this helped.25345194-v0hbouy2nvquqteoroa5j5rq-3-0.png

To be on the safe side without further information I would hook the two subs up in series leaving you with an 8 ohm load.

Yes it should do the job. You will need to wire the sub in series and make sure you have a 4ohm load on the amp. It should be right at around 700 watts RMS @ 12-13 volts.

What kind amp should be use for ts-w307d2 subwoofer speaker?

Nice sub, i have 2 308d4s in my car. Okay this sub is a dual coil 2 ohm. so to get best bang for your buck you'll want a 2 channel amp and bridge it. Your sub is 400 watts RMS, So you'll want an amp that has the same rating. I'd recommend the pioneer GM-5400t. Then wire your voice coils in parallel, and bridge your amp, you'll get 380 watts RMS, which is perfect for this sub. If you have questions on wiring or anything you can just ask. thanks, i hope this helps

Hello king3132,

Three 4 ohm subs can be wired parallel for a 1.34 ohm final load or series for a 12 ohm load. If you have the channels of the amp bridged, I hope that the subs are connected in series because the Sony XM-2200GTX is NOT rated for or stable at 1.34 ohms. It's only stable down to 4 ohms.

You definitely will not get the maximum potential of the subs from that amp. They can handle 400 watts RMS each (total 1,200 watts) and the amp is only capable of 500 watts RMS into 4 ohms (less at higher impedance), so each sub could only be getting a maximum of 166.6 watts RMS.

Hope this helps.

How do i bridge 3 subs to a 4 channel amp

My information shows the XM-1652Z as being a 2-channel amp. It will not be stable below 4-ohms in bridged mode. For best power, your subs will need to be 2-ohms with all 3 wired in series. This will present a 6-ohm load to the amp. After wiring the subs in series, connect the positive speaker wire to one channel (+) and the negative speaker wire to the other channel (-). For the 1652Z no other wiring is necessary. For subs you will also want to set the LPF (80Hz) switch to the "ON" position (to the right).

Keep in mind that the rated output is only 400 watts RMS at 4-ohms in bridged mode. That's kinda wimpy for 3 subs. You would probably obtain better results from two 2-ohm subs, each connected to a separate channel. That way each sub would be getting 200 watts RMS, still low but there's lots of good subs that will sound pretty loud with 150-200 watts

What is best amp to run 2 12 inch cvr's

12In Kicker CVRs
are Dual Voice Coil, and You can run each voice coil around 200 Watts RMS

So each sub will have a 400 Watt RMS and 800 Watts peak.

Now since you have 2, Your total will be 800 Watts RMS and 1600 Watts Peak.

I would get really any amp that sits at around 800-1000 Watts RMS.

These are kicker but they are low end so i wouldnt push them to the extreme.

1000-1200 Watts RMS Max and but keep the Gain down on the amp. They will hit no doubt but i wouldnt push these subs or you will be disapointed in the long run.

I would get a Fosgate or MTX amp.

You can get any amp really but find something right around 1000 Watts RMS and it will push those well.

You can go mono block or a 2 channel, just depends on how you want to wire them.

Be careful though. If your running them bridged right now with your mono block, do not run them parallel bridged on a 1000w RMS Amp, you will blow them so fast lol

(RMS = Root Mean Square. Or in other words is the continuous wattage being sent from the amplifier to the subwoffers)

Subwoofers

This will depend on the amplifiers capabilities.

I will give 2 different scenarios.

#1 Stereo configuration

If the amplifier supports an RMS power output close to the RMS input power of the subwoofers then run the amplifier in stereo mode. For example 150 watts RMS X 4 channels driven at 20-20khz. (If you can provide a model # for the subs and the amp your looking at I can help you further with this decision.

Wiring for this is easy and simply involves matching the connectors for 2 of the channels (Front or Rear) to each of the subwoofers.

#2 Mono Bridged mode.

If the amplifier is lower power but mono bridgable you can bridge two Pairs of channels and power each of the subwoofers this way.

Generally speaking a 2 channel bridgable amplifier will be able to at least combine the wattage of each channel into a single monural channel and in many cases its actually higher.

So you would bridge the front 2 channels into a single bridged mode for one subwoofer. and then you could bridge the read 2 channels into another bridged mono channel for your other sub woofer.

For example if you had bridgable amplifier thats 50 watts RMS X 4 you coudl very likely (Generalization based on quality of amplifier) send 150 watts RMS to each subwoofer.

Again I would need to know what amp you're refering to to provide specific wiring instructions. Many Bridging amplifiers either have a single switch that will send them to bridged mode or you would use the positive + terminal from one channel and the negative - terminal from the other channel or a combination of both.

Bridging 800a4

That all depends upon whether or not the sub you are running has dual voice coils or just a single voice coil. The 800a4 is a four channel amp; thus the only way you can bridge it will be 3 channel or 2 channel. If you are running a dual voice coil sub then you can wire the amp two channel and get 400 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms. Make sure that you sub can handle this kind of power though.

Here are the specs:
4 x 100 @ 4 ohms (13.8V - <0.05% THD)
4 x 200 @ 2 ohms (13.8V - <0.10% THD)
2 x 400 @ 4 ohms bridged (13.8V - <0.10% THD)
Fuse: External 60A
Manufactured in 1999 - 2001
