I just added a new black ink cartridge to my Lexmark z2300 and it will not recognize it. I had a problem the last time I changed the color cartridge, tried calling Lexmark with no help, and finally...

To rectify this error with your printer, first of all, you need to snap the cartridge in and out a few times. If this doesn't work, you need to remove the printer cartridge from the printer and then clean off the foil contacts. You need to be careful while doing this and do not wipe the nozzles from where the ink comes out. Insert the cartridge and switch on the printer. Now your problem might be fixed. If this does not work, it is better to inform the manufacturer or contact online technical support experts.

My documents will not print the colored part. just Black and white

I would first check to see how low the color cartridge is. If it is out of ink, you will need to replace it.
Your Lexmark has two cartridges, one for colors and one for black.
To check the level of the ink cartridges, go to the Lexmark Solution Center. This is the software that was installed to run you Lexmark printer.
Check the cartridge ink level images that appear on each tab. If a cartridge is low, or if you have received an Ink Low message on the computer screen, install a new cartridge. An empty or low cartridge is marked with an exclamation point ( ! ).

To order print cartridges:

1 }}--> }}-->Open the }}--> }}-->Lexmark Solution Center .

2 }}--> }}-->Click the Contact Information tab.

3 }}--> }}-->Click Ordering Ink and Supplies.
For help installing a cartridge, go to How to install the print cartridge.

Lost my manual, need to change the ink cartridge, help

  1. Look at the indicator light on your Lexmark printer. You'll need to replace ink cartridges when the light flashes or turns red instead of the standard green.

  2. Purchase Lexmark ink cartridges. You can buy the brand name or purchase a generic version that is compatible with your printer. You can shop for low cost ink cartridges from ABC Ink.
  3. Step 3 Remove the old cartridges from your printer. Grip the sides of the Lexmark ink cartridges and pull it out. Dispose of the ink cartridges in a recycle program like the one at Staples or save the cartridges for refill.
  4. Step 4 Install the new ink cartridges after removing the protective tabs. Avoid touching the IC chip when installing the new Lexmark ink cartridges. Replace the cover of the printer.
  5. Step 5 Allow the Lexmark printer to run a nozzle test. Print several pages with the new ink cartridges to make sure you installed the ink cartridges correctly. The indicator light should return to a solid green color.

My printer has suddenly started printing in a distorted colour. It has worked fine and ink is very new. Please can you help?

Normally, when I get distorted color, that tells me that they are not Genuine Cartridges.

Are they? If not then change them, and you will see.

These printer companies, ie: Epson, Photosmart, Lexmark, have them Rigged, like that!!!!

Good Luck....&.
pls let me know...
