This sounds like the heater is not energising usually means the heater has failedalthough a blocked or sticking pressure switch will cause the same problem

My fdw60 hotpoint dishwasher seems to start then the fast light and the delicate light flash and it stops. Please help.

Have you tried cleaning out the filters in the base of the machine? Also make sure there is no bits in the filter sump. Then give it a clean using a dishwasher cleaner.

Hotpoint dishwasher

Switch the machine off and unplug at the mains. Leave for ten minutes, then plug in and switch on. My dishwasher control panel had a mind of its own and did what it wanted including leaving water in the bottom of the machine. The electrics sometimes need re-booting! Hotpoint suggested the solution and it worked for me. Saved me £99 call out charge. Good luck.

Hotpoint dish washer aquarius

I had the same problem with my Hotpoint Aquarius the eco and fast light flashing, it would go through the pre wash cycle and stop.
I cleaned the filters etc; and it still didn’t work.
I turned the machine off and unplugged it at the mains,
I drained all the water, turned the machine on the side and took the bottom off, I removed the drain pump off the bottom (this was held on with a single screw after taking the screw out slightly turn it to one side as its like a bayonet fit on a light bulb also remove the wire connection and a rubber drain pipe)
Once the pump was removed I could clearly see the impellor it was very tight and I couldn’t spin it after a closer examination I could see a foreign object jamming it I removed this with a pair of tweezers, replaced the pump and put it all back together and it now works perfectly.
I hope this can be of some help.
Peter.

Hotpoint aquarius FDW60

I think you will find that the heater has packed up.same thing has happened to my 14month old machine.
Waiting for the part to arrive approx £40 looks quite straight forward if you are a bit handy with tools
