Question about Apple MacBook PC Notebook

Screen lines on MacBook.

I have recently brought a MacBook, and have noticed that there is diagonal lines across the screen. These lines can be seen more clearly on lighter colours, and very clear on a white background. They are clearer in the top left hand corner of the screen. The following picture shows the issue;

This is is the second MacBook I've had (one had to be returned to the store because of a faulty airport card), and they have both had these diagonal lines across their screens.

Is this normal on the macbooks? If not does this means I should try and get a repair or replacement?

    I have the same problem.

There is an archived thread myself and others posted in on apple's boards:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa...

Several people planned to take it in for repair but I havent heard if warranty covered it or not. I plan on taking mine in in a week or so. I cant stand this flaw. It makes the screen appear textured and makes graphic design impossible. I consider this a very obvious flaw. I'm just hoping Apple agrees and fixes it without a huge hassle.

Please let us know your results if you try to get warranty to cover this and I will do the same.

Sounds like dropped pixels.  My first guess is the computer has been dropped on its corner, with the pixel dropout radiating diagonally from the corner.
My saint bernard sat on my g3 lombard, and I have vertical pixel dropout because of it, from the top of the screen to the bottom.
And no, it is not normal for a macbook to have lines across the screen.

Full screen google on macbook

If you are using Safari and the OS is Lion (10.7 or above), move your cursor to the upper right hand corner of the browser. You will see two diagonal arrows, diametrically opposed to one another. Click on that and your browser will dominate your screen.

I can see a green line on my mac book pro screen

First, reboot the computer and see if it still comes up after that.

If the green line persists, plug your macbook into another display- does the green line show up there as well? If it does, the problem is with the graphics unit. If not, it's a screen issue.

MacBook Screen Repair

well dont fret, sounds like you need a new screen.
http://www.screencountry.com/ has them the cheapest ive found. replacing them does take time and alot of screws but is doable.
check out http://repair4laptop.org/disassembly_apple.html for instructions on replacing the screen for your specfic model. please take care when replacing the screen, there are alot of small part and screws. be sure to work at a clean table and make sure you have a couple hours to do it all at once. I did mine in two days and ended up with 7 extra screws when i was done :)

MBP Graphic Chip Failing

Flickering screen, solid horizontal or diagonal lines of light, start up but no screen. Connect another display to the DVI port, if you get a signal, the display is toast, if not- the GPU is. APPLECARE?

Macbook Screen Error

Does it only show up when the computer is on? There were a few reports of several MacBooks having video card issues that caused this problem. Take it to an Apple store and have a Mac Genius look at it to confirm.

MacBook opening screen leaves a one inch black strip on both sides.

use the gray bar on top to move the screen to the upper left hand corner.  Then click and drag the bottom right portion of the screen to the size that you want it be.
