The Disney Pix Micro digital camera will turn off in 60 seconds of inactivity. To take a picture, press the button on the top of the camera once. It stores 50 pics. To delete a photo, hold the Trashcan button for a second. To delete all photos, press the delete button for 5 seconds...you will see '00' appear. Overall, it's a good camera to start off with if your child is interested in taking photos and you don't trust they won't drop your 'good one.' It's only 19.99, so it's affordable to replace if they love it and something happens to it. Enjoy!
It should turn off after 60 seconds of inactivity however the type or memory in the camera is called volatile memory and it requires a charge to store data. So even if the display is blank if you have pictures on the camera it will be pulling a charge from the battery. The best thing to do would be to download the pictures from the camera as soon as you can so that the pictures stored in the memory aren't pulling a charge from the battery.

Sounds like it's time for a new battery. Rechargeable batteries often hold less and less of a charge as time passes. Especially if it doesn't become drained and charged at a regular interval or if it stays on the charger all the time. (This is untrue with the new Lithium Ion batteries but the charge will diminish over time.
digital cameras have always "eaten" batteries. tho there may be an internal defect in the camera i would suggest purchasing a good set of rechargale batteries and charger for them.
This may seem simplistic, but have you tried replacing the batteries first? It really quickly drains batteries and what you are describing sounds consistent with low batteries.
I had the same problem. After trying several different new batteries I bought high grade Lithium batteries. This worked! Before getting a new camera try spending $15 on quality batteries. It worked for me.
check your batteries...sometimes cheap batterie or regular batteries do the same to mine...you may need to spend the little extra and purchase batteries for a digital camera ect....good luck
