just hook up your xbox by the etheirnet cable and your computers motem and go on xboxlive.com click create newaccount you must have a microsoftlive account
If your other computers on the network are capable of surfing on the net then you might be blocked out from The Xbox live Microsoft :[] I'm not sure but maybe you could try using a USB to Ethernet or wireless network card instead of the internal card ?! It might help if they are blocking ppl by controlling their MAC address!
hotels have a special program for routers creating their own community network, you have to access that through a link on the computer and you cant do that through the xbox. the hotel fucked you
A default gateway is usually 192.168.1.1 and your subnet mask should auto fill in to 255.255.255.0. To check it properly, go to Network connections on your pc. Start/Control panel/network connections. And check the status of your connection. Then go to the 2nd tab 'Support' and it will show it.
