Question about RCA F36650 36" TV
My t.v. trys to power on but then shuts off. i was told this is the flyback transformer. is this correct? i have bought one, and was wondering if any other parts are known to go bad? or should i just have the flyback put in? i ask because some one said that when the flyback goes bad so does the horizontal output transistor. please let me know before i wreck the flyback
Replace flyback xformer and horizontal , also check for loose connection on horizontal driver transformer , and the coil next to it , that normally fix the problem i have fixed a lot of this tv s

I have the same but , didnt change nothing yet ....What are you suggesting me ? I'm on my way to repair shop and , I need to know what to say to him ...Can you help me Dude ?

Would this cause the t.v. to turn on but have no picture? i had my guy come over today and replace the flyback now the t.v. will turn on and stay on but there is no picture the bottom of the bulb gets red but nothing else. please help.

Usually the horizontal output does become shorted when the flyback goes. I would replace the H output as it only cost around 3 dollars. You can check it with an ohms meter out of circuit to determine if it is indeed shorted or open.
